10. Smart Choice For What?
As a running mate, I must say she's a masterful choice on the part of McSame.

She's got charisma, something his ticket sorely lacked. She's gone after some Republicans, so they get to call her a maverick and reformer. Because of her gender, she appeals to some women voters. Also, because she is female, it helps McCain and his legions exploit the supposed rift in the Democratic party over Hillary not being our nominee (or Obama's running mate). Finally, because she's a woman, they can deflect any criticism of her as sexist.

They can use her being a "Hockey Mom" as a plus to show voters (especially women) how she is just like them, but when her family is questioned, that's dirty politics.

many Liberals (self included) have fallen into the trap of attacking Palin's credentials and comparing Obama to her. The Republicans could have lost the "experience" argument by picking Palin, but instead, we lose the judgment matters more than experience that was our defense when we question Palin's experience.

She is a distraction from the real issues.

In that sense, Palin was a brilliant choice. The Republican queen just "checked" our king. But it's not checkmate yet.

As an actual vice president or president she's a nightmare. She'd be a horrible leader who would continue the worst policies of Bush/Cheney with deceptively kind smile.

13. Looking at it from an entirely cynical, political viewpoint, it was a very smart choice.
Looking at it from whether it's good for the future of our country, it was perhaps the very worst choice in the history of our country (Cheney may have been worse, though at least he was arguably qualified, and no one knew how really evil he'd turn out to be).

So, I don't know how to answer.

15. What a stupidly worded poll
It has no value whatsoever. It offers a false choice of "smart choice or not." Smart choice for whom or what? McCain or the country?

Then, it offers up 3 alternative responses that have little to do with the original question. What a useless poll!
