To paraphrase, If Obama had done the 10 Town Halls like I wanted my campaign would not be attacking him this way. :banghead:

Where the FUCK does McCain get off using that for a reason for why he is blatantly LYING in his commercials? Its like he is the girl we all knew in middle school who was a total bitch and would spread rumors about someone when she got mad at them.

So basically if Obama had gone and done the Town Halls, McCain wouldn't be lying about Obama and misrepresenting his every position. Um sure, I am sure this would be a clean campaign with no Rovian bullshit tactics.

What do you think the Rethugs would do if Obama had said that?

I am so angry right now I could SCREAM! The McCain/Palin supporters I see are glassy eyes disciples and no amount of the facts changes their minds.

I really hope Obama comes out swinging and the liberal 527's let loose!

Obviously the MSM isn't going to call McCain on his bullshit so someone has to!!!

1. Oh I am SO with you on that one.
It sounds as if his nasty campaign of lies and bullshit and his way of punishing Obama for not doing the town halls.

That was just about the stupidest, most childish thing I've ever heard coming out an adult's mouth. And somebody should call him on it. I wish the Obama campaign would say something about this. A good 30 second ad would suffice.

Also both Obama and Biden need to say something about this in their stump speeches over the next few days.

2. I just posted something elsewhere on that
he should be called out on it. What it amounts to is a form of blackmail. He is trying to blame the shit on Obama. Kind of like blaming a rape victim. He should be challenged directly: "John, I will meet you anywhere, any time, in public, in front of whatever group of townspeople care to attend, on camera, to receive your personal apology and retraction for saying I want to teach kindergartners about sex before they learn to read." (and various other lies).

4. It's really too bad that we have consciences...

Cause I'd really love to see ads featuring "John McCain wants your child to be molested" and "Sarah Pallin wants your daughter to have her rapists baby"

It's just the same instinct that makes me want to throw stuff at the TV whenever I see these lying punks on.

8. I was also thinking about the disgusting rape excuse I have heard
from many men who say "well if she was dressed that way what did she think would happen"

Its the same thing. If you didn't do what I said you should expect lies, distortion and slander.

I can't wait until the debates. Maybe that will wake the country up. The fundies will do what fundies do but the Independents and undecideds are what it is important to show the peril our country is in!

5. do you really believe him?
after all of the lies we have seen out of that campaign, why would you even believe that he is telling the truth now?

We all know that Rove is advising that campaign, are we really to believe that Rove would have played nice if Obama had agreed to the town halls?

6. Like everything mcass does, it is to change the subject or create a diversion
The one thing that this election has shown is the real mccain which the media had protected for so long

What maverick means in his context is an unbalanced, unstable person

7. Other than DU and Prog Radio, I haven't heard it anywhere...
but you're right, it needs to be paraded out for all to see... McCain is arrogant and vindictive. He is not your 'friend,' my friends.

11. Wrong analogy
Let's not sugar coat this. He is like an abusive husband who claims that the abuse is actually his wife's fault because she did something in a manner that wasn't exactly like he wanted.

13. True
He is an a-moral war loving wive abusing sexist piece of shit and it BLOWS ME AWAY that he is not 20pts down in the polls except that I am sure that there is very selective polling being done. I know very hard core Republicans who are voting Obama-because even though I don't agree with them on most topics they are intelligent people who see the bridge we are all going to be driven off if this nightmare ticket wins. I still don't believe they will win, I have a lot of faith in the new voters who have been registered the the Rethuglicans will try and steal it. We will all have to work to get out the vote, make sure everyone can get a ride to the polls and be very vigilant at the polling places and report ANYTHING that looks odd.

Maybe we should organize people to help at the long lines, like volunteer to bring food and help with kids and stuff so the people aren't forced to walk away as in other years.

12. Only democrats have called him on it and Republican-owned corporate media
don't cover Democrats as much. TV news is partisan, sometimes very much so, and at other times it lessens a bit.

To review the Super-Partisan Coverage during Election 2004, check out the new DVD "Stealing America Vote By Vote". www.stealingamericathemovie.com

They have an excellent compilation of the very biased coverage I was stunned to witness at the time. It was excruciating to be here at DU reading reports of election anomalies from the field, and have the network news prime time election coverage talking about how smooth the election was. It was awful to see the exit polling showing 51% Kerry to 48% Bush, and to have those figures switch after midnight.

It has been disconcerting how little coverage has been given to the election integrity issue.

So if you get a chance to see the movie: Stealing America: Vote by Vote , please do so. It will refresh your memory of how the Republican owned corporate media managed the news about Election 2004.

It also shows the different methods that have been used to skew election results-- from hacking, to voter caging lists, to challenges at polling places to slow down voting.

Republicans desperately need to depress Democratic numbers because there are millions more registered Democrats than Republicans, so they will try anything to get us to stay home or give up and go home. I admire those folks who stood in line for hours just for the right to vote.

15. If I had given my mother than kind of excuse for lying I would have been grounded for my
entire childhood. That is pure b.s. and so childish. If you don't do what I want I will huff and puff and blow your house down.

McCain you are a phony, lying, me first, pos, and it's time that you took personal responsibility for your own actions.
