Crowley: Palin is Ann-Margaret in Kitten With a Whip
On the McLaughlin Group, Crowley first crowed:

(McCain) pulled off the nearly impossible here with the selection of Sarah Palin and in his speech, which is that he has rebranded the Republican Party as populist, as reformist, anti-establishment, anti- corruption, and — dare I say it — hip and cool..."

(You can say a lot of things about the Republican Party (and I do), but how many humans with even mildly normal brain function would describe John McCain and Sarah Palin as hip and cool --- wait, maybe Crowley meant to say, "hip replacement" and "frigid?")

But the lovely Monica did not stop there. Gushing, Crowley pronounced:

She (Palin) is Ann-Margret in "Kitten with a Whip." She is fabulous, okay? And it raises the question, where has she been? The Republican Party has been craving somebody new and fresh and dynamic.

Notice to Ms. Crowley: You might want to check theplot line of your acclaimed cinematic tour-de-force:
An aspiring senator finds himself in deep trouble when he tangles with a sultry teenage girl gone bad in this campy drama. Ann-Margret stars as Jody, a tough customer who escapes from reform school by stabbing a matron and attempting to burn down the building and then takes refuge in a house owned by the ambitious senator David Patton (John Forsythe). Despite the hellcat's ample charms, the would-be officeholder wants nothing to do with her and tries to drive her away. She responds by practically taking him hostage, with the help of a gang of delinquent friends. An unexpected act of violence causes more trouble, leading Jody to hijack David and force him to a drive a getaway car to Mexico.

Could there be a more hilarious comparison? But beyond the sheer comedy, could there be a more sexist allusion? And the right wing is frothing charges of "disrespect" and "sexism" because Joe Biden observed that Palin is "good looking" ?!? No man -- not even a Republican man (well, maybe a dweeb like Jonah Goldberg) could have gotten away with making such a statement.

6. Crowley made an ass of herself, trying to spin Palin's ABC interview positively.
But this remark is over-the-top.

7. She's been in Alaska cultivating the phony reformer image.
I read that from the get go the Republican Party had big plans for her. With Hillary Clinton a major political figure, don't you think they were grooming some women to counter her (Clinton).

9. The only way to watch either Kitten with a Whip or Palin
Is to have Mike, Crow, and Tom Servo from Mystery Science Theater 3000 hurling insults at the screen. They did it for Kitten; it would be nice if they could reunite for Palin.
