For today, what I’m NOT going to do…

I’m not going to read any posts by Chicken Littles or by Kool Aid Drinkers!
I’m not going to respond to flamebait.

I’m not going to search the Internet from MSM pages to blog to blog.
I’m not going to go to electoral-vote or pollster or five thirty eight.

I’m not going to watch political videos.
I’m not even going to read the Toons.

I’m not going to be a part of DU today (although I will miss you)
I’m not going to wring my hands.
I’m not going to knash my teeth.
I’m not going to sit here alone
I’m not going to worry.
I’m not going to fear.

I’m not going to sit here another Saturday for hours full of frustration or worry while the polls don’t go our way and read threads that explain and debate why the plan isn’t working and what else they should be doing.

I AM going to hope.
I AM going to hope so much that hope become an action verb.

I AM GOING TO GET UP OFF MY ASS.
I am going to get up, get in the shower, get in my car and drive.
I am going to drive over to the Obama/Biden and Udall center for the north area Denver metropolitan area (Adams County office) and do some “hoping” over there.
They’re expecting me.

And, I am going to hope that you hope.
I am going to hope that you really want change and that you want change enough to get up out of your chair, too. Because we all love DU and we all love keyboard-commandeering, but I love my country more. Country first, you know.

I finally “get it”.

It isn’t enough to just want it. Hope isn’t just a feeling and it isn’t just a word…when you REALLY hope, it changes you. Hope is an action verb. From now on I will define “hope” as any off-the-ass action that is actually getting something done. HOPE. It makes you do things you’ve never done before, like daring to go to an office (even though you’re anxious and nervous) so that you can DO SOMETHING. Even if I just help some other worker today, who gets only one person registered to vote or who swings her vote to Obama, it will be the most valuable thing I’ve done for this campaign so far.

These people are welcoming, organized, energized and FUN! I'm meeting them soon. Better go find some walking shoes.
