***OFFICIAL ANECDOTAL THEY'RE NOT - VOTING - MCCAIN - BECAUSE - OF - PALIN THREAD*** |
|
My barber who has voted for a Rethug for the entire 34 years I've attended him and I have had to listen to his humorous-but-very-disturbing diatribes against Liberal Dems (he gives a great haircut and is, in fact, a very nice, funny guy) is holding his nose and voting for Obama because of Palin.
...please don't tell me to change barbers, he's like family. Thanks in advance!

My partner's sister's husband (I guess this would make him my brother-out-law once removed? anyway) has always voted Republican...but not this time. He laid down a marker before the Palin pick that he would not vote McCain if he put an evangelical on the ticket. And voila! One less vote for McCain.
Course he lives in Massachusetts where it doesn't really matter. Still.
C ya,

2. I never believe those I know who claim this. |
|
I live in Freep central and have had a number of women who planned to vote McCain prior to Palin say they've changed their minds because of her. A few said they would vote Obama and a few said they'll just not vote. These are died in the wool republican women, most of whom own businesses and make a very nice income. They'll vote McCain, Palin or not. I'd bet my last nickel on it.

Trust me, I unfortunately know some seriously freepie freepers. We aren't yet to the point we can choose our neighbors or all of our working contacts. - and I'm not sure I'd want to.

3. My entire repub family. My two bros, my dad, and my uncle by marriage and his kids. |
|
Although my one bro is a super fundie, so he may be down with the whole Palin thing. My dad knows better--he has admitted the repubs are really screwing things up and is completely disgusted by the war, but hates to admit he's wrong and subscribes 110% to the whole 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' mindset. He won't vote Obama, but he sure as hell won't vote for the two nuts.

4. Another guy in Florida.. Thought Guiliani was the man for the job.. |
|
Thought Hillary was a good choice "two fer one" attitude.. was watching a part of the Palin interview.. that infamous "in what respect, Charlie?" Said after I asked him who he was voting for, "well, there isn't any choice left but Obama.. There's no way you could vote for McCain and just hope that nothing happens to him." McCain lost more supporters than the media likes to spin.

One decided to vote for Bob Barr, and the other ( who is racist but ashamed of it ) said he has to vote for Obama now.
