Former Mayor of New York Ed Koch backs Obama, calls Palin "scary"
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 07:07 PM by peacetrain

Former New York Mayor Ed Koch, who endorsed and worked for George W. Bush in 2004, is endorsing Obama today, NY1 first reported.

I asked Koch just now what prompted the move.

"The designation of Palin to be vice president," he said. "She's scary."

He said he was alarmed by the report that she'd triggered a conflict with the local librarian in Wasilla, Alaska by inquiring about the possibility of banning books.

"Any time someone goes to the library and says, 'I want to ban books,' and the librarian says 'no,' and she threatens to fire them -- that's scary," he said.

3. Yep, the truth cannot be held back
She comes out of a tradition, who think the only way the parousia (end times) will happen is when all people who are Jewish have either converted or are destroyed.

9. i agree
She is so misguided. I used to work with a know-it-all Bible thumper like Palin. She put me off of organized religion completely.

Besides, I think Palin may turn out to be super scary in that respect if she rises to the top. Think Spanish Inquisition scary for those of us who do not share her beliefs.

7. Thank you for adding that..since I am on dial-up I never see videos
so I do not think to add them to my posts, since I can't see them (unless I want to sit for 20 minutes waiting for them to download ) :hi:

8. I'm about to go from wireless something-fast to no home internet
I'm moving. The withdrawal will be serious! I think there are some cafes with free wireless, but it won't be the same.

10. Well we are thinking about going cable..
just because the net is so heavy now. I read somewhere only 12 or 15% of people are on dial up now.. and I can believe it.. I could carve my email in stone faster than what it takes for the sites to come up now with all pics etc

But even with that, it would be hard not to have it at home. I get most of my news off the net now.. I think that is what I would miss the most..access to all those newspapers or should I say net papers
