Obvious Bias of CNN Joe Biden Revealed v. Sarah Palin Revealed
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 09:33 PM by Stand and Fight
Not even five minutes into this -- after having endured an hour long bullshit fest for Palin -- and it's clear already that they're doing a hatchet job. The first three minutes have been replete with mockery and allusions; whereas, the stupid Palin episode was a virtual love-fest. CNN is so full of shit. Not that I'm surprised.

Now on to his first run for the presidency... I wonder if they will handle the plagiarism thing correctly.... Oh my, they did!

1. I agree and said basically the same thing in another thread
The McCain and Obama specials were pretty balanced, but the Palin one was definitely a lovefest. They left an awful lot out.

2. Yeah, they completely glossed over her idiocy.
Especially in regards to her youngest child, Trig. They failed to mention the idiotic risk she took with the child's life to finish a speech.

3. how did she take any risks?
she wasn't pregnant. Trig isn't hers. Or are you referring to the risk she took with that big pillow?

I have not seen any evidence to convince me otherwise. Innuendo does not count.

4. Yeah, but they listed ALL of the negatives about Joe right up front --
We're still discovering Palin's.

Stick with it -- I think it'll be a good piece from the little clips I've seen of it.

regardless of the negative things they say about him.

15. And his negatives weren't as damning as Palin's (and McCain's) could be.
No Keating Five, for example... No investigation to see if he's misused his power.

Yawn.

21. If you're referring to the Kinnock thing, I thought it went rather well.
The CNN person acknowledged that he always had credited him previously, most reporters don't mention that fact.

Was that what you meant?

27. Yeah, to my shock and amazement, they told the whole story...
but now they totally glazed over the CC thing, leaving questions on the table for people who don't do the research. $214,000 from the CC companies since 1989?! Give me a break.

That's not my idea of bought and paid for.

45. I was pleasantly surprised with the way that was handled...
They did the right thing in that one instance. That may be the only redeeming factor about the special.

5. I didn't see hers, but I just hope they tell the whole story
of the plagerism thing. No one ever does....he had credited Kinnock on all but one occasion, which is when they threw him under the bus. And Joe, in his modesty never mentions that, so I doubt CNN will.

But, I'm not sure what bias you are talking about. Perhaps I have been fighting for Joe for so long, I have become numb to it.

Because this special is anything but fair. Every time they've cut to commercial, it's something negative in the lead-out.

7. This is some biased BS!
90% of the Palin piece was glowing, and no mention of AIP or many other issues.

In the first 5 minutes of the Biden piece...beltway insider, credit card company lackey, verbose gaffe machine, plagairism scandal.

Not that these things shouldnt be covered but the two pieces should be balanced.

CNN Sucks!

The reality is this --- they really had to gloss over a lot to even make her comparable to other candidates... Nothing on the AIP -- which should have been BIG.

I am glad I am not the only one that felt like the two specials weren't exactly equal in their presentation. Sometimes I think I am looking too hard.

My mom said Palins was more fluffy because there is nothing to fill an hour with.

20. Remember there is no media bias per se. Rather...
... the media thrives on controversy, 'cause that's what sells. They'll mold the news to fit a narrative in which there is built-in drama or controversy. The narrative must be obvious and easy; thus, it's equal opportunity. The "easy" route right now is to hail Palin as a new force in Washington, vs. old-timer Biden; just as the media has previously hailed Obama as a new force vs. old-timer McCain.

When you focus on the bottom dollar, you go with what's easy and lazy. It's not necessarily journalism, but it *is* entertainment. And, sadly, CNN is not immune.

This production is an epic fail. They don't even focus in on many of the great accomplishments of Joe Biden or all of the countries he has traveled to... I'm very disappointed in these "Revealed" shows in regards to the vice-presidential candidates.

48. My letter.....
the link: http://siu.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/13/joe-biden-revealed

Hatchet Job on Joe, pure and simple.

The poorest man in the Senate is made to come off as a pariah….
While the scariest religious extremist woman picked for the 2nd highest office in the land by a 72 year old 4 time cancer survivor, Ms. Sarah of 5 schools in 5 years for 1 degree, comes off like cotton candy literally wrapped up in a flag.

CNN, owned by Time-Warner corporation failed once again at telling a balanced truth. Why is Biden’s GOP foe, Alex Castellanos, long time CNN resident GOP pundit even in this piece? Why do we care what this operative thinks of Joe Biden?

But this isn’t surprising and in fact is expected by those who took us to war in Iraq, corporate media.

But CNN failed. I’m voting for Obama and Joe in spite of CNN hard work.
