Where the F are the 527s ???? 53 days left
Come on, people, Obama is being swiftboated and our 527s seem to be silent. Please tell me they will react. Enough with turning the other cheek.

I wonder if they have any plans at all. There is so much to reveal about McCain and Pailin, they are certainly not lacking in material.

1. I've seen one the last few days about McCan't and all the lobbyists who are running his
campaign. It was a good one.

33. That was from the Obama campaign....
...if you mean this one:

We should donate to Obama-Biden to help them run ads about the real McCain.

2. I've heard rumblings about Obama turning them loose.
He has kept them under wraps, up to this point, because he thought McCain would run an honorable campaign. That didn't go so well.

Obama has been really honorable, but he should've known McCain fights dirty. I am afraid we are running out of time.

8. I've heard that they are on the way, too... I must admit that Obama's recent
comments asking which country is McLame putting first was right on the money and exactly the kind of message that needs to be delivered. They should make an ad out of that particular speech; it was awesome.

9. No it hasn't . Maybe Obama is saving his silver bullets until we get closer to the election.
The only problem with that it gives McCain a good opportunity to paint a false potrait of Obama in voters' minds - which could prove difficult to overcome later on down the line.

It's just that when THEY come out with something devastating we all begin hollering that we need to address this -- get tougher, etc. And then, a day or two later, Obama comes out with a new spot which temporarily appeases us. Until the next time. :7

It seems like we expect them to instantaneously fight back (like we can do, here on the blogs), but in real life, it takes time. They have to decide what to do, then implement it, buy the air time, etc.

I'm partially trying to reassure myself, too, so I understand your anxiety. :pals:

44. My anxiety is mostly gone.
It generally doesn't last long. Once I get away from the Internet and remind myself how smart and savvy Obama is, and how cagey he can be, I always realize that he knows what he's doing and he has a strategy even if the rest of us are in it.

Of course, McLiar got a bump from his convention -- everyone always does -- and his went a little further because of Palin. But she's a novelty, but she is truly only loved by the evangelical nutjobs on the extreme right. The rest of the Republicans -- the ones who are actually intellient and a little closer to sanity than the evangelicals -- were probably excited by her at first, but now that her record, her lies and her lack of knowledge is coming to light, I think they are realizing that McCain made a huge error in judgement picking her. It takes a little time for this type of realization to settle in.

I think they were so caught in the excitement of seeing the party pull ahead, and the excitement of a new, fresh face on the ticket who energized the base, they weren't as quick to criticize as they otherwise might have been. I think that is changing for many of them now.

As for the Independents -- they surely can't be stupid enough to buy into the plethora of exposed lies being peddled by McCain and Palin. We just need to give it a short time to sink in. Things are already looking up and I'm feeling much better today.

It'll take a bit but as we all can profess from personal experience, the MSM will be slow on the uptake. I'm pretty sure that there's plenty of stuff behind the scenes we don't even know about.

15. yep, I guess I should calm down
The thing is that I live in a red state (TX), and maybe they will decide that it would be a waste of money to run them here.

And yet, one never knows, there are many many of us democrats here. Also I have talked to a lot of undecideds who may need something like a 527 ad to open their eyes and help them make a decision.

...but the ads they're running are similar to what 527s run, and both 501(c)(4)s and 527s accept soft money (unlimited donations per person).

The truth needs to come out and I understand that the campaign needs to rise above and stay away from it, 'cause they won't be cut as much slack as McShame's campaign. But the rest of us can speak out and tell the truth about this guy and his sidekick.

23. Sunday, September 21st, we're organizing hundreds of "MoveOn for Obama" calling parties ....

Sunday, September 21st, we're organizing hundreds of "MoveOn for Obama" calling parties

to help recruit an army of volunteers for Obama! We'll reach out to every MoveOn member in

every swing state to help them sign up to volunteer for Obama.

If we can mobilize tens of thousands of volunteers for Obama in key states,

we'll help push Barack over the top in November. Plus, next week is MoveOn's 10th birthday,

so we'll celebrate with cake and ice cream after we're done calling!

MoveOn members in your area will be eager to help, but they need somewhere to gather.

Can you sign up to host a "MoveOn for Obama" party?

http://pol.moveon.org/event/events/create.html?action_id=136&id=13816-9167649-QDwjUbx&t=4

Have you seen the polls? Now's the time we all need to jump into this campaign.

If you host a party, you'll enable Obama supporters in your neighborhood to make

hundreds of calls into swing states. That simple act—opening up your living room for

an afternoon—will result in dozens more volunteers for Obama's powerful grassroots campaign

in critical states like Ohio, Florida and Michigan! And hosting a calling party couldn't be easier.

All you'll need is access to a printer before the event and space where folks can comfortably

make calls from their cell phones. We'll email MoveOn members near you to help build a crowd,

and ask them to bring ice cream and cake to make it more fun for everybody.

In less than 8 weeks, America will choose the next president of the United States.

8 weeks!

We all need to work hard now to make sure that's Barack Obama.

Please sign up to host a party today:

http://pol.moveon.org/event/events/create.html?action_id=136&id=13816-9167649-QDwjUbx&t=5

Thanks for all you do.

The earlier and more consistent, the better. 10-12 days before the election may be too late with voters' minds already set. I still remember the 2004 election, though I've tried hard to forget it.
