That's why I wont vote for him. No actually, I'm voting for Obama because I think he will be the president this country has desperately needed for a long time.


but simple phrases win the day in a land of idiot children. Us progressives are usually pretty bad a boiling our ideas down to simple phrases: we view the world as complicated, shades of grey everywhere, complicated problems call for nuanced answers that take into account plethora of variables.

well folks, it's a smart way to govern and attack this country's problems, but it's a stupid way to try and win an election in a country full of people who's only source of enlightenment has been our miserable education system. Let's face it. People on the most part are lazy, simple, easily fooled. They don't want to hear the complicated truth, they want the easy answer that doesn't require any thought (look at how many assholes are driving around right now with bumper stickers saying "DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW, PAY LESS" -it's completely indiotic and childish, but you know what, people fall for that shit -they want the easy answer, the easy way out). It's a heartbreaking fact, but we hve to deal with it.

So we need to start boiling our argument down to a few simple attacks that don't take a lot of explaination. Realize that a lot of explaination justs turns most people off. They're too fucking lazing to look at the facts, they want simple little thought nuggets that comfort their childish minds with the sense that they've grasped the important part of the problem merely by remembering a simple phrase. This is why we need Dems in office, to start the hard work of improving our educational system so we can start having elections based on facts and reality, not the childish games that currently dominate, but to do that we first have to win. Here are a few simple attacks you can use.

MCCAIN IS A LIAR. I SAW IT ON THE NEWS. THEY'VE CAUGHT HIM LYING ABOUT ALL KINDS OF THINGS. FLAT OUT LIES. ALL POLITICIANS LIE A LITTLE, BUT IT'S SO BAD EVEN THE PRESS IS AFTER HIM ABOUT IT.

SARAH PALIN DOESN'T KNOW HER ASSHOLE FROM HER ELBOW. SHE LOOKED LIKE A MORON IN THAT INTERVIEW, COULDN'T ANSWER QUESTIONS THAT I COULD OF. WHY WOULD MCCAIN PICK SOMEONE SO STUPID?

MCCAIN PUSHED A WOMAN IN A WHEELCHAIR. THE THOUGHT OF IT JUST MAKES ME SICK.

OBAMAS GONNA GIVE ME TWICE THE TAX BREAK THAT MCCAIN WOULD.

MCCAIN CALLED HIS WIFE A CUNT IN PUBLIC -WELL, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT WHERE I COME FROM, DECENT FOLKS JUST DON'T DO THAT KIND OF THING.

I'VE SEEN THE PICTURES OF MCCAIN EATING BIRTHDAY CAKE WITH GEORGE BUSH WHILE THOSE PEOPLE WERE DYING IN NEW ORLEANS.

MCCAIN CAN SAY ALL HE WANTS, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED HE'D BE JUST LIKE BUSH.

MCCAIN HAS BEEN RICH ALL HIS LIFE, THERE'S NO WAY HE KNOWS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE WORKING CLASS -SO HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO KNOW HOW TO HELP WORKING CLASS FOLKS?

IT WAS MCCAINS LOBBYIST BUDDIES THAT PUSHED THROUGH THE DEREGULATION THAT CAUSED THE MORGAGE CRISIS.

I HEARD THAT MCCAIN SANG TO THE VIETCONG FOR SPECIAL TREATMENT WHILE HE WAS PRISONER.

I ALSO HEARD THAT MCCAIN ISN'T EVEN A REAL CHRISTIAN, HE JUST JOINED A CHURCH WHEN HE STARTED RUNNING FOR OFFICE.

means, no factual verification, just a rumor, but one you can choose or choose not to believe.

personally, I think both are pretty likely. To say, I know this as a fact, I would want evidence, but to spread innuendo against a bald faced lying asshole, eh, doesn't bother me that much.

4. you know if you are talking to people who don't know about politics

or are repubs.. I would act like you are one of them (that way they will listen) and just say "I was going to vote for McCain, but then he lied so much and has been running such a sleazy campaign I changed my vote"

some of the stuff we say here, would just make people's heads explode. they don't follow politics or really understand what is at stake. Talk to them like you are one of them, and like OP said, McCain is a liar. Keep it simple
