If you've given $2,300 to Obama-Biden...
...for the general election and want to give more to help Obama win, the Democratic National Committee accepts donations up to $28,500.

2. Wow.
If I had that money to spend, I would probably not be spending nearly so many evenings here at DU.

8. I have a question. Who keeps track of your limit?
Do you have to keep track of how much money you have already donated or does the Obama campaign keep track of that? I'm just wondering because what if you accidentally forget to carry a 1 somewhere and donate like $10 over the limit, what happens? It won't ever happen to me for a long long time since I can only donate in bits and pieces but I am curious.

Thanks!

9. If you're nearing the limit for Obama-Biden...
...and you want to be careful not to exceed it, there are three ways you can deal with that:

a) Phone the Obama campaign and ask them if they have your total.
b) Donate to the DNC chaired by Howard Dean instead (the DNC can accept up to $28,500 per cycle per person.)
c) Ask your spouse (if you have a spouse) to donate instead of your donating.

Note: you're allowed to donate $2,300 for the primary and $2,300 for the general, and your donations before Obama accepted the nomination in Denver probably count as primary money.
