This was in today's Pittsburgh Post Gazette. I'm not a huge poll junkie, but I did like seeing that Obama continues to lead in Pennsylvania! :)

11. Western PA needs work, which is where all those new offices are located.
I hope to see many new volunteers working there. There's no shortage of grassroots help in the eastern part of the state.
Hillary won Pittsburgh decisively -- there's a lot of "white working-class voters" there.

14. Western PA definitely needs work.

The opening of the New Kensington office was really important, the GOTV will be crucial there.

We have our local meeting tonight at 6:00. I'll be anxious to see if there are any new volunteers there. We've been getting more.

It's tough to fight the press in this area of PA. All of the local newspapers, except for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette are owned by Richard Mellon Scaife. He controls the press in Westmoreland, Armstrong, and Indiana counties. This cannot be discounted--there is a large senior population here, and that's where most of them are getting their news.

The campaign has been doing face-to-face canvassing to try to reach these voters.

19. Scaife is a blight on this country. But you're a star, blue neen!
I'm heading off to a local market in a few minutes to register voters on our side of the state, just in case.

We do indeed have troops on the ground here (what a treat to go to Trader Joe's in Valley Forge yesterday to see....several well-dressed, country-club-looking Main Line Matrons outside manning a Voter Registration table (with a little sign on the bottom that said "Yes We Can")

Glad the Obama camp is spending money on new offices rather than pins and lawn signs.

Keep up the good fight, blue neen!

29. We're psyched!
My boss told me yesterday that his dad is voting for Obama. He's a very conservative man, lives in a very conservative suburb in Butler County. He wants real change from Bushco's disastrous policies and thinks Obama is just the person to do it! :)

We want CHANGE!

Even my formerly Republican boss and his very conservative father are voting for Obama! Woot!

In the meantime, do some phone banking for Team Obama there: http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/phonebankinglanding

15. Both canvassing and phone banking in PA
I went in to volunteer last weekend at the West Chester office. They're really hot on canvassing. If you really don't want to canvas, they'll put you on the phones. It's all about the door to door ground game out here. :hi: (Hi neighbor!

I hate phone banking. If I can I'll come out there . . . who do I talk to, which area needs the most help out there?

Hey! :hi:

Biden being Catholic should also help with that. :-)

25. I think both MI and MN will be ours.
Optimistic Terry time:

Michigan will go to us because of the economy.

Minnesota will go to us because in part of the Senate race. It's one of the highest profile Senate races in the election. And, Terry feeling comfortable about going on this limb...Al Franken will win that Senate seat. That "Running Man" ad of Franken's campaign is GOOD. Plus, I think the voters of Minnesota will have "buyer's remorse" over ol slimebag Norm Coleman.

I was surprised to see one poll having us tied in MN and one showing us 2 points ahead. I doubt those numbers. :hi:
