Rasmussen: McCain 50%, Obama 47%

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows John McCain reaching the 50% level of support for the first time since Barack Obama wrapped up the Democratic Presidential Nomination. McCain retains a three-point advantage for the third straight day, 50% to 47%.McCain voters are now more excited about the election than Obama’s.

WTF? How can half the people go for people who simply lie their ass off and have no plans to make the country better. It boggles the mind! :-(

The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator shows McCain leading in states with 200 Electoral College votes while Obama has the edge in states with 193 votes. When “leaners” are included, shows Obama leading 259-247 (see Quick Campaign Overview). A total of 270 Electoral Votes are needed to win the White House (see 50-State Summary).

16. There's a mushier middle than we want to admit.

A good number of Americans simply sway with what they're presented with--if they see a feisty-sounding/looking gal and a beat-up old man who's a bit invigorated, they see an underdog coming from behind.

I saw a poll yesterday that showed about 20% of Americans acknowledged that they didn't know if Palin's views on abortion and other issues would affect their vote--it's another way of understanding that at minimum, 20% of Americans simply don't know her views on issues.

I have some confidence that once this is brought to light (and similarly, about McCain, because a LOT of people still think he's more moderate than he really is) that the polls will go our way.

Along with a lot of very tough street-fighting from Obama, of course.

I'm not saying I think it's some conspiracy, but I just find it odd that they would abruptly start omitting part of their polling data that they have always included to this point.

Hopefully today is the day that the momentum starts to swing back towards Obama.
