Pravda Columnist on Palin - "Do you know what a nuclear holocaust is?"
Wow - they really do not like her

I have cut off the end paragraph as it gets a little below the belt but it is worth a read.

Palin - the Devil in disguise.

http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/12-09-2008/106354-palindevil-0

The candidate for the Vice Presidency of the United States of America, whose experience in small town politics, mothers´day dos and the local hockey club is her claim to fame, threatened to open the gates of Hell by attacking Russia in the event of another invasion of Georgia in a televised interview on ABC (shown today). One question for this self-opinionated upstart: Do you know what a nuclear holocaust is?

Sarah Palin, Mrs. Nobody know-it-all shreiking cow from Alaska, the joke of American politics, plied with a couple of vodkas before letting rip in front of incredulous audiences while McCain coos in the background, cuts a ridiculous figure as she strives to be taken seriously.

How can anyone whose husband is a member of the Alaska Independence Party and who is running for the Vice Presidency of the Union be taken seriously? How indeed can the Republican Party be taken seriously for not vetting this female, or have they not yet discovered the skeletons in her closet? We have.

So Sarah Palin, Mrs. Hockey Mom housewife-cum-small-town gossip merchant and cheap little guttersnipe, suppose you shut up and allowed real politicians and diplomats to do their work? Threatening Russia with a war is perhaps the most irresponsible thing anyone could do at this moment in time. Have you any idea what a nuclear holocaust is? Have you any notion of the power of Russia’s armed forces? Did you know that Russia has enough missiles to destroy any target anywhere on Earth in seconds?

And have you not forgotten, you pith-headed little bimbo from the back of beyond, that small detail about the slaughter of Russian citizens by Georgians, which started the whole debacle? So next time suppose you keep your mouth shut....

1. "Do you know what a nuclear holocaust is?"
I am sure the Russians could show her what it is, of course she would have to look really fast because it would be her last thought about anything.

26. Nuclear Holocaust
She's not worried about that. Jesus will rapture her up with all her family, so she will avoid the consequences of her decisions. However, she will reverse global warming with nuclear winter!

And, of course, Palin will claim that she created the original Nuclear Holocaust - it's a recipe ripped off the Nestle Toll House Cookies web site.

6. What a perfect opportunity to usurp their 'fear' tactics
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 08:47 AM by Madam Mossfern
As someone who grew up in the 50's and 60's, knows how to outfit a fallout shelter, I offer this suggestion. How about an ad or two, or even a few well placed letters to the editor pointing out the destruction of mankind if this blathering idiot ascends to power. Honestly, I haven't been as worried myself about this since I was a young girl.

edited for spelling, even thought there are no big words

19. Then you should also remember
that the Daisy Ad ran exactly ONCE.

The specter of nuclear annihilation was very real in 1964. And while the FEAR of nuclear war has faded, the POTENTIAL has not.

I'm going to mention again several books that are WELL worth reading, if you can get your hands on them:

The Politics of Doomsday (c) 1970 by Erling Jorstad. Examines the influence of the religious right, especially those who WANT to see the end of the world. This was written with the Goldwater/Johnson campaign still in fresh memory and the rise of the religious right just beginning to be noticed. NOT OUTDATED AT ALL.

America, God, and the Bomb, by F. E. Knelman. An updated version of his earlier work "Reagan, God, and the Bomb."

The Genocidal Mentality by Robert Jay Lifton and Erik Markusen.

Most of us fear nuclear mass destruction. That fear is what led to the invasion of Iraq. But there are those religious fundamentalists, and particularly christian fundamentalists, who view the total destruction of the Earth as something desirable. They do not fear nuclear war; they believe that UNTIL GOD WILLS IT, not even nuclear war can destroy the world. And IF GOD WILLS IT, then it's fine and dandy with them!

Dismissing them as harmless kooks is dangerous.

20. It is hard to dismiss them as harmless kooks
when they have taken over a once great Party, and when one of the most extreme examples of Christian Fundamentalism could be a weak heart away from the Presidency. If as one Republican said, McCain will make Cheyney look like Gandhi, where does that put Palin?

in the silly notion that this would bring about the Second Coming. These people are very dangerous, and mainstream Christians as a whole have failed to condemn this heresy.
