Palin and the ignorant "Mom" factor

Is this part of the dumb-ing down of America?
The USA's headlong plunge into making the movie "Idiocracy" a reality?

When I hear an "average Mom" being interviewed on the news at a Palin rally, and she says "wouldn't it be nice to have someone like me in the White House" I shudder.
That somehow, if Palin was there, then the average Mom would be represented?
Is that what these loons think?

Apparently they are forgetting an important factor:

Namely that McCain's Republican handlers will pick his cabinet for him which is sure to be dominated by, like all other recent Republican cabinets, corporate CEO's and other cronies who's vested interest is pushing our government into serving their wealthy special interests.
These would include, but are not limited to, weakening rules and regulations that protect health and environment, slacking off on public safety requirements, funneling tax dollars to those in the top tier, further weakening of trade and labor laws to favor outsourcing of jobs, and much more.

It is a fact that when Republicans are in the White House they appoint this type of mentality to cabinet positions at an exponential rate over who the Democratic Party appoints.
Democrats appoint far more public service oriented people to cabinet positions. It's not even close.

Something for "hockey Mom's" to think about before they get all gooey with feelings towards Palin.

2. I think that if women are voting on the "mom" factor
then further thought and reflection are not going to happen. That just means they are voting in popularity contest and have no idea what any of the candidates really stand for and/or don't care. I used to be totally apathetic about politics, but I've always had my same core values and know I'm a Democrat. I can't imagine the Republicans suddenly picking an artist (like me) and me switching over for the "wow" factor. That just seems weird to me. My .02.

3. Obama had to apologize for suggesting American kids learn more than one language.....
.... Lots of people voted for a president "'cause he seems like he'd be cool to have a beer with."....

I laughed out loud at "Idiocracy", but I had no idea it was a documentary!!! :scared:

5. of course
I was not purposely singling out all women here.
Just the one's I have heard on news casts that piss me off.

My intention was not sexist.
If it was taken that way then I apologize.

6. I appreciate it. I'm just noting what you know that for years it's been okay for veterans...
to vote for veterans, etc. Unfortunately, the stupid vote their identity with a high frequency. There is a constituency for 'stupid'.

I just came from my French fast-food coffee bar and there were some women there still frothing over Clinton not getting the nod. Fortunately none saw voting for McCain as an alternative, but this is Chevy Chase and that might be a deciding factor.

Eight years in political polling made me assume that Clinton would do much better with independent and suburban Republican women and I think that's still the case. Two national surveys in the last week of May showed Clinton beating McCain by a wider margin than Obama would.

I'm concerned because Obama's numbers have fairly flat-lined since the first week of March. He's just kept his head above water since then.

I will have an Obama sign when the Bethesda office gets certified to hand them out. Keep up the Good Fight!
