2. Not too worried
McCain got the expected bounce from their convention. It'll be a different
story next week.

9. Looks like this organization only does a poll once every 4 months.
So I guess we won't see another one until January.

at least a month from now. I believe the numbers will be different but there seems to be work to do in any case. The numbers are not surprising considering when it was taken and where.

4. okay DUers...
you guys are the best at knocking down every bad poll for Obama...so have at it on this one....what? The poll is conducted by repubs? Now enough dems in the sample, 2 week convention bounce....let's hear the excuses now?

Minnesota should never be close....

10. Actually
if you read the article it was taken one week after the RNC, pretty much the peak of their convention bounce. It's not making excuses to acknowledge that and to not get panicky till we see it a week or two from now. How about some mental toughness?

31. that's not the point here, the point is what would you have Obama do different?
he is raising money, he is campaigning strongly, he is responding to attacks, he is ratcheting up his own attacks, his own convention was flawless, unified and on message.

he is running an incredible campaign and the only thing i'm fretting about are the ignoramus low information voters that decide our elections and how they are swayed by lies and prejudices much more than the rest of the voting public.

as for Obama, he just needs to keep plugging away. nobody said this would be easy.

C'mon. McCain was getting so little media attention in May that he could've died and nobody would've noticed.

Whatever the reason it won't last.

I know they were around in 2004. I really don't know how the pollsters manage the fraud, but it IS FRAUD.

37. Not saying Minnesota hasn't been a blue leaning state...
But the reason it resisted the Reagan onslaught was because of Mondale being on the ticket

1968 - Minnesotan Hubert Humphrey was the Presidential candidate

1976 - Minnesotan Walter Mondale was on the ticket

MN might be close but it will/must stay blue. It is critical to Obama's victory.

39. I work in the Mpls exurbs, and there isn't much McCain mania going
on there. Quite a few Obama signs. In fact I see
more of the old */Cheney 04 stickers than McCain,
(not sure how to gauge that).
My workplace (manufacturing) leans to Obama.

22. Senators Obama and Biden need ...

to spend time in Minnesota. They should hammer McCain on economic issues and health care. Minnesota is a good state for Hillary to push Obama's health care plan. Hope they have time to visit some of the rural areas. Palin is the main factor right now for the polls in Minnesota. Hopefully, as more and more comes out about how REALLY BAD she is, the polls will reflect Obama's real and potential strength there.

24. the star trib
as far as I know it's not a right wing paper. they endorsed Obama in the primaries. their polls are usually accurate gauges of how the state is leaning. as stated above the poll was taken right after the convention and reflect the bounce. I'm positive Obama will take the state, but note to all Minnesotans: Get Out There and Knock on Doors!

Tied up in oil like you wouldn't believe. I wonder where their political loyalties lie.

I wonder why we're seeing such a pile of negative poll posts lately. It couldn't be Rove demoralizing the troops could it?

Surely the Republicans wouldn't go so far as to bias polls. That would just be INCONCEIVABLE!
