About McCain's 'war wounds prevent him using a computer' excuse...
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 09:42 AM by Kurt_and_Hunter
Just say Karl Rove himself using the, "McCain's war wounds prevent him from using a keyboard" defense.

One of the more admirable incidents in McCain's biography is that after Vietnam he desperately wanted to be returned to active duty. To command a flight squadron, even on the desk level, required a flight certification. So he went through a year or two of very painful physical therapy to regain his flight certification, rather than simply retiring with his disability pension.

And he succeeded! He was re-certified to fly a jet.

Yet a man certified to fly a fighter jet cannot use a computer. Blind people and quadriplegics use computers these days, and certainly could not be flight-qualified. Hmmmm.

You know what this is like? The fucking OJ trial in reverse!

Remember how Johnny Cochran's first line of defense was that OJ's football-hero arthritis was too severe to allow him to cut people's heads off? It wasn't a serious defense. It provoked laughter... OJ was a movie action hero, but we were told he was too disabled to hold a knife??? It was part of a wall of confusing flack thrown up only to provide a wide variety of possible handholds for people to grab onto to justify irrationally taking racial sides in what should be a non-racial controversy.

There is a glaring DNA trail linking McCain to Bush, so they will throw up endless bogus distractions to make the question one of racial solidarity.

6. Bingo... I thought of that. If McCain is too infirmed to use a computer
he is unfit to meet the demands of the presidency.

Stupid argument.

7. NYT interview - in McCain's own words - he can use one, he is lazy
I am repeating this everywhere because I want it out there - McCain himself said to the NYT that he can use one - sounds like he is just lazy and doesn't get the importance of doing so. Here are McCain's own words, in July, 2008:

Q: What websites if any do you look at regularly?

Mr. McCain: Brooke and Mark show me Drudge, obviously, everybody watches, for better or for worse, Drudge. Sometimes I look at Politico. Sometimes RealPolitics, sometimes.

(Mrs. McCain and Ms. Buchanan both interject: “Meagan’s blog!”)

Mr. McCain: Excuse me, Meagan’s blog. And we also look at the blogs from Michael and from you that may not be in the newspaper, that are just part of your blog.

Q: But do you go on line for yourself?

Mr. McCain: They go on for me. I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don’t expect to be a great communicator, I don’t expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need – including going to my daughter’s blog first, before anything else.

Q: Do you use a blackberry or email?

Mr. McCain: No

Mark Salter: He uses a BlackBerry, just ours.

Mr. McCain: I use the Blackberry, but I don’t e-mail, I’ve never felt the particular need to e-mail. I read e-mails all the time, but the communications that I have with my friends and staff are oral and done with my cell phone. I have the luxury of being in contact with them literally all the time. We now have a phone on the plane that is usable on the plane, so I just never really felt a need to do it. But I do – could I just say, really – I understand the impact of blogs on American politics today and political campaigns. I understand that. And I understand that something appears on one blog, can ricochet all around and get into the evening news, the front page of The New York Times. So, I do pay attention to the blogs. And I am not in any way unappreciative of the impact that they have on entire campaigns and world opinion.

9. Or you could just show them the fucking photo of George McCain using
a Blackberry AND a cell phone at the same time. Why is that being ignored?
