Paul Begala hits it on the nail... |
|
Today on This Week, he said the way to get under John McCain's skin is to go after his "Honor"; take his campaign tactics, and throw them back at him as "dishonorable" and unworthy of a former Naval Officer.

3. But he IS conducting himself dishonorably |

Lying in the face of facts, and doing it over and over and over ignoring reality like people will just buy it IS DISHONORABLE.
John McSame is NOT a good man.

2. Yes, the way to go is to brand the campaign tactics as dishonorable and not the man. |
|
Of course, would an honorable man use dishonorable campaign tactics? That would be a seed to plant in the minds of the voters.

9. Obama has been chipping away at the edges |
|
And recently has been going in a little deeper. It's dangerous territory and you have to lay the ground work before you go all in.

The Dems need to point out the fact that lying is a sin as much as adultery, or murder. How honorable is it to continue to lie to the American people. We need to ask if some of the lords commandments are more important than others. If so, lets rank them. Sarah, you go first. The McCain campaign has been caught over and over lying. If you can't abide by the laws set out by the one you consider to be the Supreme Being, and basically run on that premise, how will you ever be able to abide by the laws of us mere mortals? Or do our laws even matter. MORE OF THE SAME.

14. berni, if that's all it took we'd be finishing up with Al Gore's second term right now. |
|
We have to tell the truth AND be tougher than tough....tougher than we showed in 2000 and 2004.

19. this about how you PACKAGE and MARKET the Truth. Too many DUers and Democrats fail |
|
to understand that any idea, platform or candidate must be packaged and marketed effectively.
It's not stupid, corrupt or anti-intellectual to acknowledge that and to do it effectively.
In fact, there are people whose job it is to study how to package and market the Truth.
Sadly, the Right uses very good marketing to sell Lies.

18. write this letter to your paper- McCain Does Not Support the Troops |
|
To the Editor:
The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the country’s largest Iraq veterans’ group, looked at 155 Senate votes since Sept. 11, 2001, on legislation that “affected troops, veterans or military families.” It then awarded each senator a grade by comparing his or her votes to IAVA’s view of what constitutes effective support for active troops, veterans and their families.
No senator received an “A” grade. Thirteen senators — all Democrats — received an “A-.” The worst grade received by a Senate Democrat was higher than the best grade granted to a Republican. Barack Obama got a B+.
John McCain received a “D.”
So much for McCain's support of the troops.
Still not convinced?
John McCain keeps saying "I have a perfect voting record from organizations like the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and all the other veterans service organizations."
Sounds good? This is a lie. The VFW and American Legion do not compile congressional voting records, and other veterans' organizations that do compile records aren't favorable.
Disabled American Veterans is an organization that was founded following World War I, and today has 1.4 million members.
It not only tracks this legislation, but tracks how politicians vote.
John McCain is documented as having voted with DAV-supported legislation 34 percent of the time.
Barack Obama has voted with the DAV 89 percent of the time.
Now I would bet that this comes as a surprise to many Veterans and members of the Military and their families. I would also bet it comes as a surprise to the American people who hear McCain give lip service to the military. This would be because McCain's words do not match his actions. Just more empty words trying to deceive the American people.
Vote Obama/Biden on November 4th.
