Polls aren't "real votes", are they? |
|
That's why I try not to pay too much attention to them.

1. No, they're a snapshot indicator |
|
Of what real votes would be as of the particular days polled.

2. Polls are like movie reviews, they don't really move or measure people like they used to |

They arent even a snapshot of voters anymore, they are just Opinion Editorials at the time, of the people they happen to catch.
People make up their own mind and listen to their circle of influence. I have watched again and again over the last few years movies get good reviews and tank and movies get bad reviews and do blockbuster box office.
There was a time a review would make or break a movie, not any more and polls are the same way.
The only people that are moved by polls are people that pay attention to polls and since there are polls that say exactly the opposite at the same time more often than not people just tune them out anymore.
It s the cry wolf syndrome and we saw best in BOTH primaries earlier this year, Polls were incorrect or significantly missed the mark nearly 75% of the time. You actually would have had better odds on coin flips than polls in the primaries, Both Dem and Repug.
History shows us the future, Polls are useless in todays real diagnostics.
It is the same wall coming down as publishing and broadcasting, today more than 4 years ago Consumers are publishing and broadcasting more than being published and broadcast to, its in that reality that Polls and Movie Reviews exist, their power to tell you what to think or do has been taken away.

3. Polls may give manipulated or incorrect results based upon sample size and sample methods. |
|
A poll is only as good as its sample size and the sample methods used.
