Chuck Todd: Obama will loose 70% of the independents WHAT!!!!
Where the hell is he getting that info from. People haven't even voted yet. I'm starting to see this media trying to influence this election with all these pundits claiming Obama is loosing ground all these polling firms lock step saying McCain is leading in the polls and in fact I heard someone in the media even say Obama was loosing African American support.

1. I was wondering what Chuck Todd said on MTP..well I guess he thinks
it is pretty much over. If Obama loses 70% of independents then he loses the election.

I didn't see it. Have read it both ways here.

The distinction is important.

10. People who are undecided at this point aren't voting
on the issues.

I hope Team Obama realizes this.

37. No one will EVER be honest when profit is on the line.
We need to take the profit motive out any important industry, media included.

in July of 2007 because of 'the surge(TM)'. I lump Todd in with all the other great seers on cable TV. They knoweth not, yet it don't stop them from speaking.

11. He said undecideds in MI/WI.
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 10:20 AM by carpetbagger
He said Obama better be at 48% in Michigan and Wisconsin on election eve, since he beleives that many of the men saying they're undecided won't vote for a black guy.

I'm not so gloomy, I agree with him but I'm hopeful GOTV will add 2% to our numbers, so I'm going with 46%.

EDIT: Channel surfing during ESPN commercials is pretty useful, ain't it.

25. Most white working class voters never vote with
their pocketbooks--they vote with their guns, , their bible, and their dislike of foreign brown people and gays.

33. Yes but race is a pocketbook issue in MI, If i dont have my job its because of that brown person
And if that muslim or that black guy or that slick uppity thinker or that democrat comes in here hes going to give my job tot he other muslims or black guys or uppity thinkers or democrats.

And guess what, due to Obamas diversity, hes feared by each demo not just one it is more xenophobia than racism but most couldn't tell you the difference.

26. Obama will lose MI, I have been saying it for weeks, its a racialy motivated backlash
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 10:38 AM by Boz
Of the strained relations specific to the region. Nothing Obama did or will do will change that.

That is the move that is being caught in the Polls. People say independent when they are mostly republican and dont want to admit it and they say any excuse, Palin, Muslim, flag pin, but what they really mean is OTHER.

Not black, but other, and other takes whats mine it is that limbic for alot of people in Michigan. Its racism on a much broader scale, not by skin color, but almost xenophobic in its protectionism.

31. I don't know about that. Think Many Houses.
If it's about economics, Obama goes in to the election with a 48-44% poll lead, the undecideds break for McCain, but turnout pushes us over.

14. It almost seems like they are manipulating polls so they won't
look stupid in retrospect when Republicans steal another election.

There are millions more Democrats registered than Republicans, but many polls sample equal numbers of Dems, Repubs and Independents.

In the prior thefts, the polling data before the elections showed that the so called final results were very odd. There were shifts in numbers that were statistically nearly impossible.

The reporters were talking about Kerry's substantial lead up into election night and after midnight there was a huge shift of six percent -- Kerry vote came in 3% lower than expected and Bush 3% higher.

So perhaps this time they are preparing polls of selected pools of voters to show Republicans gaining strength, so that if they use the same five techniques of election manipulation that they used in 2004, the reporters won't be embarassed for predicting an Obama win.

Stealing America: Vote by Vote has an excellent summary of Republican techniques of election manipulation, including caging lists, not counting hundreds of thousands of ballots, cyber-crime of various types, misdirecting voters with robocalls, challenging voters at the polling places in order to slow the process down and create long, discouraging lines, etc. www.stealingamericathemovie.com

21. In an article yesterday he said insiders
in the Democratic party have given up all hope of securing 60 seats in the Senate and they will only gain in the single digits in the House. This was in an editorial posted on NBC.com Saturday titled "When will Palin's Bubble Burst". According to him the Democrats were hoping to gain Senate and House seats in many traditionally red districts and now with Palin energizing the far right it won't happen.

His opinion can change at any time. The media has to keep this contest interesting or viewers will stop watching so for right now we are being told subjective information.
