Why would McCain be closing the gap in the polls? He's lying like a rug, Obama, and in some cases the press, is calling him out on it, the Palin/Gibson interviews made her look ridiculous.
What is it? Am I to believe that because the GOP had their convention last, that's all anyone can remember?

20. That's what I've been saying. We are having the Bradley Effect come out early. |
|
And in many ways, this is GOOD. It means we will have fewer surprises on election day and the ground we need to gain is very clear.

7. Its the spin and its spinning sooo hard that people are losing their minds. |
|
Seriously, I haven't found one person who has anything good to say about McCain or Palin. I've heard there are no choices, obviously I'm going to have to vote for Obama... I think its a bunch of lies.. I think the fundies are just happy with the Palin pick and are actually showing their faces again... These are the same people who showed up for Bush. If anything, McCain's pick makes people disgusted with politicians and everything that goes along with the entire process. People are worried about their jobs, lack of income, price of gas, spending billions of their tax dollars on wars 2 wars... This is a serious election about the direction of this country and the Republicans and media have turned the entire process into a circus that makes people throw up their hands and decide that the system will never work for them...

8. Yes, unfortunately a lot of Americans are that stupid... |
|
I told my dh that I believe that a lot of Americans go with the crowd, if the media is playing something up as new and exciting, a lot of Americans will go along with that and want to be a part of it. It's crazy of course, after the GOP convention, remember the pundits were saying her speech was a slam-dunk? Some people heard that and that was all they needed to hear. That and her extremist religious views, they were sold. They never needed to hear anything else. I actually heard people on TV saying, "isn't she great, I love her"! Huh? You know nothing about her. I hope the swing voters are listening to everything since she spoke at the convention. The fundies were never going to vote for Obama anyways...I still think she is sinking like the Titanic.

They poll increasing numbers of registered Republicans in order to make the result what their sponsors want it to be.

about ABC or CBS skewing their polls last week. Wish I had saved it. I trust the polls about as much as I trust the television cable shows.

11. If Americans vote with their stupidity... |
|

and their worst inclinations, then we are in for a rough 4 years. The financial markets are on the verge of collapsing, and McCain doesn't really give a shit, because in his view, all is well and We, The People will be completely on our own. He'll likely die within his first two years in office and Palin will be at the helm, a perfect puppet for rabid, evangelical right. Roe Vs. Wade will be overturned, and American will become a theocratic, Depression Era shithole dictatorship. Oh, and there WILL be a draft as we enter into war after war.
If Americans vote with their intelligence and their best inclinations, then we will still be in for a rough 4 years, but we will have a true leader at the helm. Lets face it, if a Democrat is elected, Bush will pull out the rug and everything that has been artificially propped up for the last several years will come crashing down. In spite of this, Obama will be able to motivate and inspire Americans during the rough times, and will work with the best minds in order to come up with creative, real life solutions so we can begin to climb our way out of the colossal mess the Republicans created.

17. I ALSO CALL BULLSHIT ON THE POLLS .... THIS IS WHY |
|
The pollsters say their calling lists consist of likley voters which don't take into account the 2 demographics that they say Obama is excelling in:
1) The youth voters 18-25 years of age. College campus' are registering voters in record numbers because they now realize they're the generation getting screwed and they all love Obama.
and
2) Newly registered voters. Its no secret that Obama's 50 state registration drive that actually started well over a year ago is the largest ever organized in American political history.
I'm willing to bet that these so called "polls" virtually excludes these 2 groups.
