This issue has legs and kudos to Debbie Wasserman Schultz for slaming McBush with it this a.m.!
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz did a great job slamming McBush on his opposition to equal pay for women on Face The Nation this a.m. If someone finds the link to that segment, please post.

Debbie was referring to McCain's vote on the bill referred to http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/23/mccain-opposes-equal-pay-_n_98342.html">here.

Great to see Debbie and the Governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano, hammering McCain on this. This is an excellent counter measure to the fact McBush picked a woman as his running mate - which means little coming from a McCain/Palin ticket who represents a party NOT friendly to a woman's right to have equal pay (and reproductive freedom).

6. Shultz has been really giving it to the repubs lately..
and I have been very pleasantly surprise she tore into Peter king on Matthews show and gave no ground and that is want I want to see out of the Dems. I was angry with Shultz during the primary but lately she shows that she is really fighting for our ticket..

Now where are some more Dems out there hitting our points hard and often. They usually come out fighting and I notice that the commentators of these shows usually use Hillary to try knock some of our people off point, if they were formerly supporting Hillary and some of them don't seem to know how to bring it back to them.

to counteract all the incessant handwringers who never met a negative thought they wouldn't regurgitate into an OP.

12. Lilly Ledbetter: Remember her name. This would just RESTORE the law.
This is a very important issue, and one McCain needs to be hammered on. The bill would just restore the so-called "paycheck rule" that was gutted by the Supreme Court. That rule provides that each new paycheck paid in a discriminatory fashion is actionable; i.e., the statute of limitations is tolled for filing a lawsuit. The Supreme Court threw that longstanding rule out, and said that only the INITIAL discriminatory action is actionable. That means that if a woman (like Lilly) is illegally discriminated against for years, but doesn't know about it until evidence comes to her attention, she has no action, because the statute of limitations ran long ago.

McCain shouldn't get away with this. Even the U.S. Chamber of Commerce didn't expect the Supreme Court to discard the paycheck rule. Judicial activism at its worst, and McCain's position must be widely publicized.

13. That's why rednecks like her: She hates women. Alot of the country
still harbors fear of women.

The biblical times intentionally, systematically, stole women's rights from them. Previously, women were held in the highest esteem. The godesses were women. That's why Mother Mary remains a potent icon in the church. We'll sacrifice Jesus, but not Mom. Mary is usually the most prominent statue in a chruch, right up front, touchable, and peaceful, reassuring. Why else do you reconcile the fact that the virgin Mary bore Jesus and then his mate turned out to be a Mary, as well. It's all the female diety and we need her.

So, this endless fight against women still rages on in some unenlightened communities. Palin represents a return to the good old days where roles were carved in stone, reliable, dependable. Everyone knew their place.

This is all psychology. When someone tells you how they're voting, it's a roreshock (Spelling?) revealing their inner concept of reality.

Hillary Clinton does't fit with a bigot's view of the world, neither does a black man.

But people know conciously that this is wrong. Still, they can't get past the decades of conditioning to hate women and blacks.

With Sarah, they don't have to. She's both: She resolves the conflict by letting you vote for a woman who hates women. Inner conflict dodged.

I only found two clips of DWS from that show. One about her "cliff notes" comment and the other one about Palins lying about going into Iraq to visit troops.

18. I saw her this morning on tv and she did a great job. She kept repeating that "the truth matters".
The Texas GOP senator on the panel had that typical sweet syrup voice and persistent vapid smile that so many of these Repub women have. She refused to admit that McCain voted against this bill to legislate equal pay for women and attempted to change the focus. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was relentless in hammering away at her message. It was wonderful to see.

21. I always cringe when I see a Clinton surrogate and pleased as hell when they come through.
Begala was really good on Bill Maher's show Friday.

We need some sassy surrogates to start talking trash. I would love the opportunity to laugh in the faces of some of the wingnut talking heads. It is so over for them and they know it; thus the Hail Mary campaign.

22. I was not a fan of Debbie during the primaries, but I'll give her lots of credit now!
She hits back with exactly the type of language we need. If you get a chance to watch that segment from Face The Nation yesterday - you will see what I mean. She called Sarah Palin out on her lies (about going to Iraq) and more. Great counter-punches to the righties on the panel!!!
