New Obama Ad: McCain's White House Will Be Run By "Super-Lobbyist"
The Obama campaign has rolled out another ad attacking John McCain's links to Washington lobbyists, set to air on national cable and in targeted states starting tomorrow. This one specifically goes after McCain for tapping corporate "super-lobbyist" Bill Timmons to head up his transition team should he be elected

http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/

Am I the only one who thinks that's incredibly presumptive of their campaign to hire a transition team leader at this stage in the game??

Do you think Team Obama has done the same thing?

Don't you actually have to WIN the election, first? :eyes:

I thought "transition teams" are traditionally set up AFTER victory, in the two month span between winning and the inauguration.

What are your thoughts?

1. He's dreaming.

But it's part of his fantasy world I suppose.

5. Realistically, both should be planning their transitions.
And, yes, Obama should be doing this....planning his White House staff, Cabinet appointments. It's perfectly natural at this stage of the election.

11. Fascinating. I didn't know that. Thanks for the link, Fran.
<snip>Clearly, there is the potential that in appointing Timmons -- the campaign refused to comment on the matter --- McCain could muddy his recently embraced outsider message. But, of equal interest, is the fact that the McCain campaign is undertaking the very task for which they once chastised Obama.

Their hypocrisy continues to amaze.....

But, as an aside note: It's interesting that their respective transition teams are being set up so early in the game.

I wonder if that's relatively different, compared to other election years?

...I'd even like to see Barack name some people he'd put in cabinet positions.

9. McBush's crew are such a bunch of arrogant jerks
I remember when GWB did the same thing while the 2000 election was still being decided. Maybe they think they have the American people so fooled by their filthy lies again they might as well not even HAVE the election-they think they have already won it.

They better think again. McBush/Moosezilla are going down in November. I can feel it down in my bones.

when he's sittin' with Jeb on the airplane and says not to worry, they know he'll win Florida and then flashes that sick grin to Jeb!?!? And then he "won" Florida?

Remember how McCain was WAY out of the race but kept telling everyone that he was going to win New Hampshire and then he "won" New Hampshire? It didn't matter how much of a long shot he was . . . he was totally confident that it would happen. WHY?

This tells me he strongly believes that there's no chance of him losing the GE because he has information (like he did about NH and W had about FL) that the rest of us don't.

PASS MY TINFOIL HAT PLEASE!!

But more importantly, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE prove me wrong.:tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat:
