My new comeback to those defending Palin.....
"Gee, you sound just like you did a few years ago when you were defending Bush. And we all know how well that turned out. I was right about Bush, and I'm right about Palin."

1. The electorate voting for someone BETTER than themselves...
Would mean they would have to face up to how worthless they are. Hence the attraction of voting for people as small and stupid as the electorate.

6. The defenders of Palin seem to have completely forgotten...
how recently their judgment turned out really badly. When I read their posts on the internet, they sound JUST like they did when they were saying we were just obsessive Bush haters, etc. etc.

7. Good for you....
I just thought of it, reading wingnut posts on the internet and thinking, "I bet three years ago this person was writing this same kind of post about Bush!"

10. Another variation to use on undecideds/low-info voters...
All the same people Rush, O'Reilly, Hannity, and all of the same friends and co-workers who told you to vote bush/cheney, they are now telling you to vote McCain/Palin. They are telling you that Obama is a muslim terrorist, liberal elitist or the devil. They are telling you that Palin is just like you, and McCain is a "maverick" and an agent of change. Why would you believe any of them?
I then usually go on ranting about all of the lobbyists and bushies in McC's camp and how Palin is a liar and an extremist nutjob who thinks "the Flinstones" was a documentary, and how they both want to go to war with Russia.
That usually works pretty well too.

12. You have to wonder.....

how many times Rush, Hannity, etc. have to be proven WRONG before their fans will start to doubt them. It's some sort of really strange disconnect.

8. "But, but, she's not the presidential candidate111"
Yeah, but she is one heartbeat away from taking office. And her boss is a 72 year old, cancer survivor.

13. One of the creepy things the Palin nomination has done.....
is create the impression that the Vice-president of the USA in some sort of apprenticeship/companion position.

The "Trophy Veep" syndrome.

She's exactly like chimp. But that comeback is the kind that works with that crowd.
