Bear with me a minute: Please imagine two baseball teams |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 12:26 PM by rzemanfl
nearing the end of the season:
Team A sells out every game and people are begging for tickets. Their stars are a really smart young guy and a seasoned veteran who knows every aspect of the game. They have power and precise pitching and are known for their sportsmanlike play.
Team B draws a few thousand fans to its games. Their stars are an over the hill player who has trouble following the game and a young rookie just up from the minors who makes a lot of errors. They are known for beanballs, spitballs, corked bats, arguing with the umpires and spiking the second baseman. Late night comedians make this team the butt of many jokes.
Query: Where are these two teams in the standings? I submit that it is clearly NOT TIED WITH .500 RECORDS!
We are being played folks.

1. I like the baseball analogy.... |
|
the definers seem spot on... it does make the .500 standings seem implausible

Expect the unexpected. Yeah, the two teams could be tied. In sports, footballs, baseballs, soccer balls, hockey pucks, basketballs, etc. sometimes bounce in funny ways. The key is to always find some way to win.

5. We Have a Problem With the Umpires |

M throws the ball at O's head and they call it a "strike".
Nothing we throw at M is a strike, even if he fans it.

7. Michael Strahan on ESPN NFL countdown added this |
|
Berman: Like in politics, Does Matt Cassell have the experience?
Strahan: "This guy has been in the system for 2-3 years, he's learned from the veteran on the sidelines. Now it is his time to take this team. What really matters is poise under pressure, maintaining focus, and getting his teammates to believe in him. IMHO the ability to lead a organization CANNOT be subsituted with experience!!
I was like WOW!!
