as long as the donations go to the federal and state GOP committees it is legal.

But when McCain claims to be a reformer he's being a typical Republican. Whenever they talk about change or "reform" - they mean they are going to screw the public even more than they have in the past.

McCain is showing himself to be just another Republican predator of the public trust. taking public funds for his campaign while still getting private donations is just a rape of the system. He's a good Republican doing all he can to take all the public help he can so he can help concentrate more money and power in the hands of the wealthy and powerful. Unfortunately, this is bad public policy. Even if you don't care about the perversion of ethical standards implicit in this approach, it weakens our economy and our nation. The Republicans never get this and they never will. __JW
