McCain HIMSELF said he's learning how to get online. The "disability excuse" is, therefore, a LIE:
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 03:21 PM by jenmito
He's even able to use a Blackberry. From a NYTimes interview just TWO months ago:

Q: But do you go on line for yourself?

Mr. McCain: They go on for me. I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don’t expect to be a great communicator, I don’t expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need – including going to my daughter’s blog first, before anything else.

Q: Do you use a blackberry or email?

Mr. McCain: No

Mark Salter: He uses a BlackBerry, just ours.

Mr. McCain: I use the Blackberry, but I don’t e-mail, I’ve never felt the particular need to e-mail. I read e-mails all the time, but the communications that I have with my friends and staff are oral and done with my cell phone. I have the luxury of being in contact with them literally all the time. We now have a phone on the plane that is usable on the plane, so I just never really felt a need to do it. But I do – could I just say, really – I understand the impact of blogs on American politics today and political campaigns. I understand that. And I understand that something appears on one blog, can ricochet all around and get into the evening news, the front page of The New York Times. So, I do pay attention to the blogs. And I am not in any way unappreciative of the impact that they have on entire campaigns and world opinion.

1. That Is Too Bad
I was hoping that if he couldn't even press a keyboard button, he couldn't possibly push the nuke button. What good is a 3 am phone call if you can't even manage the task at hand?

but a lie is still a lie and needs to be exposed.

2. McCain's "disability" is intellectual and philosophical...
he would rather "do away" with the internets than learn to use it. His physical disability does not inhibit him from technology. Technology enables the disabled.

to be false.

is a problem for them. It's all part of the pit-bull mentality. No conscience. KILL KILL KILL. LIE LIE LIE. WIN WIN WIN.

14. I agree. And Palin is STILL using the "thanks but no thanks" line!
I really hope people aren't dumb enough to buy it after so much has been made of the FACT that it's FALSE.

7. Yet Rove today claimed Obama messed up by airing that ad because it mocks McCain's disability
when it's BS! And he also compared using email to doing jumping jacks.

bother him--so he can't do it for extended periods of time?

I have some carpel tunnel--so I can kind of understand that.

But--they do have voice activated computer stuff--so it is really no excuse.

His surrogates obviously just figured they'd play the POW card again to try to shame Obama for running that ad.

22. No problem! This morning, on Faux, Bill Hemmer kept telling Bill Burton, Obama spokesman,
that McCain is UNABLE to use a computer keyboard due to his POW injuries. He kept interrupting him saying, "Are you AWARE that the REASON McCain can't use the keyboard is because he still has injuries due to his 5 years in a VietCong prison camp? Are you saying it's fair game to run that ad knowing this?"

Burton mentioned the article I posted here and asked Hemmer if HE was aware that McCain himself said he's LEARNING to use the computer and Hemmer replied, "Yes, due to his injuries he's now learning. Do you think it's fair game to continue to use that line or attack when it's due to his time being tortured over 4 decades ago?" :eyes:

26. Hey-today Cheri Jacobus just said...
that we have Obama trying to make fun of John McCain for not being computer literate but that his fingers might not be as nimble as some of us that are on the BLACKBERRY 24/7 because of the torture he experienced when he was a POW. So she obviously got the talking point to claim McCain's "inability" to use the computer (and Blackberry in HER example) is due to his POW days. Yeah-that's why he said he's learning from his wife and daughter how to use it?!

28. Who cares about the excuse? Or the lie? The problem here is
McCain can't use the most powerful tool of the last 100 years. The internet has single handedly changed the planet. For better or worse the internet, and the home PC for that matter, has become an almost necessary tool to survive in the modern world. Someone needs to tell McCain that we have figured out the world isn't flat...

35. A Blackberry device Is at least a combination of
cell phone, address book, and email device. It can also be a digital camera. So if he is only using it for the cell phone use then it is very inefficient.
