The issue isn't abortion or choice; it's rape. If a woman is raped, Palin believes the woman must
carry the rapist's baby to term and then either raise it or give it up for adoption.

McCain has previously suggested another position on raped women, but he's in the midst of such a full-scale retreat from everything he once espoused now that he's entered the twilight of his career, that we can no longer assume that his choice of Palin doesn't represent a flip flop on this issue, too.

1. Well, first you have to understand that it's the woman's fault
After you can accept the sick, misogynistic Conservative default mindset, the rest follows naturally...

19. If she had her father, husband, brother, or grown son with her, of if she had just stayed home,
Then she wouldn't have been raped. :eyes:

Apparently, she doesn't think you should even be able to report it if you can't afford to prove it.

4. Abortion is a wedge issue -- rape is an issue which unites everyone against the far right wingnuts.

5. And who knows maybe if elected, Unstable/Unable will make it a federal law
to then charge the rape victims for their rape kits. It would certainly be one way to save some money!

6. Actually, I think David Bender had it right! It's not the issues, it's not
the positions of the candidates, it's about dethroning the other "Star" and promoting YOURS! He reminded everyone about how popular Geraldine Ferraro was way back when, but her star faded when she was forced to hold a 3 hr. press conference about HER HUSBAND! He also referenced SNL. "When they start laughing AT YOU, you're in trouble, and hthey were laughing AT Sarah last night with the "I can see Russia from my house" comment, and comparing her to Hillary through comedy.

I admit, it's a sad statement to have to make, but American voters vote on who the current STAR is, and if they think the other candidates are just silly.

10. Sarah Palin might have to do the same press conference soon.
I'd sure like to know why Todd Palin was cc'd in "confidential" discussions.

7. By taking away the woman's choice in this she gives the rapist power over his victim.
The government also is given power over the victim. The victim is left powerless in this scenario and must acquiesce to the wishes of the government and the rapist. Mind boggling, really, when you stop to think about it.

8. Quoting from Paster Hagee
"God doesn't make mistakes. If he blesses you with a pregnancy then you should thank the Lord no matter the circumstances." Praise the lord and thank you to the radical christian right for pointing us all in the right direction.

9. Then why the uproar over premarital sex?
If God doesn't make mistakes, and all pregnancies are blessings, then why is the Christian right so much against premarital sex? Apparently God doesn't really care if you are married when it comes to having children, according to Rev Hagee.

14. They don't recognize a link in the two issues
To them abortion is the most evil sin in the world. While teenage pregnancy is just the work of the radical left pushing an anit-abstenence education policy, instead of bible thumping in first period.
