Best lie of either side on this campaign?
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 04:44 PM by Cronus Protagonist
I'll go first... "The American people are smart".

By definition, AND by scientific testing, half of them are on the left side of the smartness bell curve - ergo, they're as dumb as two short planks. I like this one a lot because the best way to get dumb people on your side is to side with them and tell them they're smart, and they're smart for siding with YOU! :)

What's yours?

10. lol
I like that one. The anti-choicers took that one hook, line and sinker! The power of repression over cognitive dissonance is clearly evidenced here. The anti-choicers are even CHAMPIONING her CHOICE! hahahaha :P

16. actually she demonstrably did
You may not like the choice she made but clearly she made it. She could have aborted it without her mom's permission but apparently chose not to.

19. Mom would disagree that she should have had a choice
That's what is wrong with repukes claiming this helps them. Why give her credit for making the "right" choice when according to them, there should be no choice?

20. I don't believe that gay people should be fired for being gay
that doesn't prevent me from thinking my principal did the correct thing in not firing me when I ended up telling her I was. I fail to see the difference.

22. But they don't believe there should be a choice for anyone else
For them, there is no choice to begin with, so why should they take credit for it?

This girl might have wanted her baby anyway. They're just assuming she made the choice to have the baby when she didn't really want to. So are they saying this child actually is unwanted, but they are making the choice to force themselves to have it as a penalty for their sexual misbehavior? That's how the right sees it.

Abortion is private and this girl could have had one and no one known any better. Obviously, she wanted the child all along. So this "choice" is no virtue. It's just what she wanted to do.

30. again that is fairly silly reasoning
Presumedly my Principal didn't fire me due to at least not caring if she had gay teachers on staff, she may have even wanted one for all I know. Regardless she made a choice, as did the younger Palin.

31. But they are the ones arguing there should be no choice
And she could have had an abortion an no one been the wiser. Therefore, she wants the child.

The choice to have the child is always one that could be made. Pro-lifers assume the child is not wanted and that the mother would choose abortion. But they are wrong. Sometimes, the mother chooses birth because she wants it. The reasons may not be so heroic. It may be to manipulate the father in the relationships.

But it's heroic only if she did not want the child in the first place. Which is evil for that child. I'm having you because it's a punishment for sexual transgressions.

The right wing is what they are. Having a baby, for them, is a punishment for sexual transgression (as they see it). If this girl wanted her baby, that'd be outside their agenda. It would mean she sinned and still gets what she wants! Wrong, in their opinions.

If they told the truth it would be, "You idiots allowed an unqualified party boy who has failed at everything he has ever done to steal the election, twice. You are a pathetic bunch of suckers."

Now you know why I will never be President.

27. My Favorite is "Sarah Palin is the most popular Gov. in America"
Spoken ENDLESSLY by her running mate.

He seems almost deliberately clueless to the fact that a mere 2 and a half weeks ago, nobody could tell Sarah Palin from my great-grandmother, and she's dead. And was black.
