McCain Running "Obama The Same Ol' Stuff" Ad On NBC
This is a new ad I haven't seen -- and in the height of me-too-ism, if-you-can't-beat-'em-join-'em-ism, and projection-ism, I don't know if it's dirty pool or a deviously superb example of jujitsu.

The ad starts with the same sleazy Obama at the podium zoom out, but then, interspersed with pictures of Reid, Schumer, Dodd and other DEMOCRATIC Senators, the ad actually claims that it's Obama -- OBAMA -- who offers "more of the same" of high taxes, no drilling of offshore oil, and and other eeeevil leeebral policies that, of course, McCain wants people to believe are the real reason for the ills people are suffering today.

And, it ran moments before Sunday night football, so a few folks will have seen it.

Anyway, we may be seeing a pivot from blatant personal lies to policy lies from McCain. Be ready.

1. If I were 72 and ill, this is not the legacy I'd want to leave behind.
McCain is pathetic.

4. like there already is a legacy?

When you are a narcisstic, abusive egomaniac with an explosive temper, adding adding pathological liar to the list doesn't seem so bad, does it?

9. No Originality
They can't even come up with their own tag lines...they have to steal ours. Can we get them on plagiarism?

(not that anything is really new in political advertising, but this is pathetic)

Nothing kills like mockery.

11. They are trying to confuse the voters, plain and simple
If they co-opt Obama's campaign, it confuses low-info voters. For example, "I like that guy that talks about change." But wait, now they're both talking about change, "I like that guy who says it's more of the same." But wait, now they're both saying "More of the same."

Pretty neat but very underhanded trick.

14. Exactly...
Muddy the waters, confuse the voters, echo the message, make them think "Aw... there all alike." This is both cynical and sadly effective if we don't combat it.

20. They have to co-opt every Obama phrase, don't they?
First, they tried to steal the "Change" meme, now they're trying "More of the same" (which I guess is actually Biden's saying). I've seen this commercial a few times and laughed over it. The really pathetic one is the one where they keep saying what "mavericks" McCain and Palin are. :eyes:
