The uncoordinated instinctual drives and motives are the "id"; the organised realistic part of the psyche is the "ego," and the critical and moralizing function the "super-ego."

Thats why we are challenged by the limbic leadership, the boomers had it but are cynical, the hippies had it but it was too square and fell out of use in the counterculture 70s Since then each generation has gotten further and further away from it being a key to their central education and its showing more and more in the instant gratuity pop culture generations.

Look at all the hand wringers in the last few weeks, Im willing to bet the age of most and that its mostly because they want to WIN NOW not when the contest is complete.
