My message to my stepdad (and anyone else who's concerned)
Well, what are YOU going to do about it??

My mom and stepdad live in MD, and talking to him today, he said he was very nervous the Obama was going to lose. I told him 1) this race isn't about Palin. Forget about her, and 2) If you are so concerned, what are you doing to turn VA blue?

He said he didn't know what to do. I told him to join Maryland for Obama, they have a plan and they're very active in N. VA. He said he didn't have time. I told him to sign up to phone bank and that he could likely phone from home. Then he said something about his cell having bad reception, so, as calmly as I could, I told him to USE THE LAND LINE.

My point is, a lot of lean-Obama's are concerned, but don't know what to do. We need to reach out to these people and get them involved. I'm in CA, but doing what I can to turn NV blue. We can reach out to independent voters, bring them into our fold and help swing those swing states.

I know so many people are doing all they can, but we need more people. If there is someone you know who's "concerned," get them involved. It'll boost their confidence in the process and add some much-needed bodies to the volunteer work.

Obama-Biden '08!

1. I was just going to post how I feel like everyone in my life is just in the dumps about the

possibility of Obama losing. My mother told me she will never vote again if Obama loses. My husband's ready to jump out the window. A friend told me at lunch today she's lost hope. And some random woman came up to me (I guess she saw my Obama button) and told me how worried she is. I don't know what to say to these people. I mean, I have my moments too, but we have to have hope and belief without being naive. I believe that feeling down and pessimistic is infectious in a bad way, and it makes people not want fight with ever fiber in their being to win this thing. It's up to all of us.

7. Colleges is the best place to do a registration drive
I was out in the 'burbs this afternoon, and very few middle-aged folks aren't registered.

Did get one young woman who had just turned 18 though, and wanted to register.

I kept thinking "why didn't they send me to one of the local colleges?"

Good on you BklynChick!!!

6. remind them that the msm needs a close race for ratings.
also remind them that we need every vote. it MUST be a blowout because rove is up to his vote-suppressing, election-stealing tricks. tell them to be positive! it helps. :grouphug:

2. Well if he listens to the media then tell him to switch it off
Obama will win Maryland so he doesn't need to worry. They can call people in Virginia and PA to get them to vote for Obama. Put him them work!!!

8. That's what I told him
Just as CA is safe, but NV is a swing, people in MD are working hard for PA and VA.
