Wave "buh bye" to McLame's convention bounce, says Nate Silver
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 08:55 PM by jefferson_dem
Overall, the landscape has not changed very much since the Republican convention – we’re just collecting different evidence about where the bounce might or might not be in different states. Arguably, however, there are a few signs that McCain is beginning to come off his peaks. Between the four national tracking polls, McCain now leads by an average of just 0.25 points, his smallest margin since the convention.

Or maybe his "Crash Landing Bounce".

4. I think it really is because the majority of Americans
are not like us, they are not political junkies. They are very disengaged. Few of the people who are now excited about Palin, other than hard core republicans and the rapture right, have any clue about what this woman believes. They aren't interested enough to find out.

It just is really sad.

5. People are more likely to follow people who lead them in the wrong direction
than follow people who don't lead them anywhere at all.

6. To heck with Nate Silver, for it is I, dchill...
who said "buh-bye" to McCain's convention bounce (even reinforced as it was by the Democratic Convention-eclipsing Palin rollout) first! I said it after the first Gibson/Palin interview. And I didn't need no steenking polls to tell me it was over, either.

BTW, the dkos Daily Tracking Poll has Obama up 47-45. It's done by Research 2000.
