We are going about this all wrong... I did something tonight and the response is awesome |
|
A lot of us have repub family members and friends that we have been working on by sending them bad videos of McCain, truths about Palin, and all that junk.
I sent a lot of those out tonight myself, but I also sent out tons of Obamas speeches on jobs, energy, economy along with it.
I got back things like "wow I didn't know that" "Maybe people need to hear more of this" "Obama needs to put that stuff in his ads"
So far I've gotten a few of those to say they won't vote at all... now I want to get them to vote for the right guy... I'm kinda excited right now at the turn around I've seen in the people that I know

The same things that made us support Obama can turn other people around, too.

8. "Don't tell me why I shouldn't vote for the other candidate, tell me why |
|
I should vote for your candidate."
That was my mantra during the beginning of the primaries and I think it holds true for most people.

Because if you only criticize McCain, they just shrug and say, "Well they're all like that." You have to be pro-Obama--let them catch a little vision.
Yes indeed.

12. I am trying to find things that matter to the individual I'm sending it to |
|
I've simply been youtubing "Obama jobs" "Obama healthcare" "obama economy"
Plus I've been sending Obamas convention speech. Not many people have even seen it who I've sent it to.
When they say he has no plan... I say oh yes he does, here it is.
They say what they say because they hve never listened to him

All my friends and family are all firmly behind Obama. Even the co-workers I socialize with are for Obama, one of which has been voting Republican since Reagan. I'm glad you're changing some minds. Good work!

18. Here's another thing we can all do: |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 11:24 PM by girl gone mad
It's amazing to me that people respond to the things we don't necessarily think about.
My Republican MIL switched after seeing Obama speak to his daughters at the convention.
Here's what I say to people now: "I really love how protective Obama is of his two girls. He's a great father and I know he'll be a good President."
I wrote a research paper on social engineering which explains why this specific technique is so effective. Maybe I'll revise it an post it on DU this week.
