1. underestimate Rove at our peril |
|
Rove is an evil bastard, but he is a master of political jujitsu... make no mistake. Hopefully, the facts are so overwhelmingly in favor of the reality-based community, it won't matter.

Rove is not the master of political jujitsu... he is the master of smear tactics.

I watched him turn the state Supreme Court here in Alabama from all-Democratic to all-Republican with his smears and dirty tricks. Mostly he accomplished it by starting a whisper campaign that a great guy, Mark Kennedy, was a child molester.
As I understand it, and I'm no martial artist, is that jujitsu is designed around the idea of attacking an opponent at his strongest points, somehow using his strongest assets against him, like Rove somehow managed to turn John Kerry's Vietnam heroism into an effective negative attack. It doesn't make logical sense, but Rove accomplished that in 2004.
Have no illusions that I'm defending Karl Rove. As far as I'm concerned he is an evil person. But he is now working for McCain, whether it is acknowledged or not, and he should not be underestimated. He is good at what he does. Hopefully, karma and the rule of law will catch up with him soon.

5. It is my sincere belief that KKKarl only brought one thing to politics |
|
Lies. And how to make people believe them.
His theory is that if a lie is told often enough, and by enough talking heads through the TeeVee, the sheeple will believe them.
So they have the echo chamber and the talking heads (both pundidiots and pols). The talking points are wired to this set of people every day (used to fax it, now probably blackberries them). The set of people is small, not more than 400 or so. There are a few useful idiots in the blogosphere for KKKarl as well, the ones that start the whisper campaigns so the whisper campaign can be reported on by the MSM (catapulting the propaganda). That's it. The lie is now complete. Repeated often enough and you can get 51% of the country to believe it.
Other than that, Rove made everything, and I mean everything... political... and, oh yeah, there are still the old style campaign ratfucking, which he does from time to time.
No genius... but he has figured out that Democrats have a hard time countering his strategy.
Half the country thinks that Obama is going to raise taxes on everyone. Including my sister.
It's just really sad.
