I am sure most heard or read the Dick Armey piece on the bubba vote and how he regretted it what is going to happen to Obama. GIVE ME A BREAK!

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-09-03-armey_N.htm

But the truth is, this is just another vote suppression technique the republicans are rolling out. By trying to convince voters who are new to the process that their vote will not matter, to keep them from the polls is just another low republican trick.

I am from Iowa, 96% snowmen white, and we went for Obama because he is best person for the job. Don't let them try and fool you.

This is about voter suppression. If you know a first time voter, keep with them, encourage them, because this is how they do it. It is as low as you can go, but that is where the republicans are at. And we as voters, and hopefully activists, can stymie them on the ground.

edit for spelling

1. I hope you're right. And from my view growing up in Illinois
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 09:54 AM by Benhurst
many years ago, Iowa seemed reasonably progressive.

But IOWA did not go for Obama this past Spring. DEMOCRATS voting in Iowa went for Obama this past spring, just as they did in North Carolina (where I currently live) and states such as Utah and other Southern States where we have little or no chance of winning.

Dick Armey is corrupt and a total ass; but unfortunately he is right, there is a large Bubba vote out there. Otherwise, given the current state of the economy and the last eight disastrous years, McCain/Palin wouldn't even be registering in the polls.

I think Obama will manage to garner more votes than McCain. My fear is that unless the country comes to its senses pretty quickly, his margin of victory will not be sufficient to prevent the election from being stolen for the third time in a row. And the corporate talking heads will explain away the theft by saying "in the final analysis, the country just wasn't ready for an African American president."

Why didn't our "leaders," including Pelosi, Reid, Clinton and Obama, address the stolen elections of 2000 and 2004 once we regained control of Congress in 2006?
 We can only hope what's past won't be prologue this coming November.

3. Good. But how could 42% of Iowans think McCain and that
ridiculous woman be worthy of their support? We are in the Twilight Zone.
