I find it amazing that republicans continue to run this country into the ground yet people continue
to vote for them. It's like the more they fuck up the more stupid ass people support them. It's fucking insane. It's hard work saving a moron from his/herself.

1. But they're "people of faith" and they "share our values!"
That trumps everything else.

7. I often think about this. It is an absolutely amazing phenomena

fucked up war and occupation
much lower standard of living
poor response to disaster (looks like FEMA fucked up on Ike. Midwest still trying to get response from floods)
hated throughout the world.
markets crashing.
on and on

yet these dolts still vote Republican. And would probably vote for Bush if he were running.
Edit to add - I have been likening this to the beaten wife syndrome for about 6 years. Repugs have got people so fearful that they are afraid to stand up to them.

8. You are not alone in having that sentiment.
Amazing. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, according to Greenspan - who endorsed all that Invisible Hand deregulation by the likes of Phil Gramm. A basic part of the Republican brand has clearly brought us to this, and half of us still follow like lemmings.

14. I was a republican for 20 years... This is my first election where I am voting democrat...
I was not stupid all of those years, I was simply wrong in the way I perceived things. It's a difficult thing sometimes to admit that you were wrong, especially when you have to go against the very same people you have agreed with for decades. I have unfortunately lost a couple of friends over this election, but it was their choice and not mine to stop speaking to me over my change in party. (Not to mention I am apparently going to hell now for this. Sigh...)

There are many other reasons of course, but this is somewhat of a big one from what I have personally witnessed. I had to swallow my pride a little in order to change my party and my vote. But for me that is a small price to pay to undo the massive damage that the party I believed in for so long has done. If the republicans win (which I honestly do not think they will thank goodness!) I seriously wonder if our nation can ever recover. They want to be "right" more than they want to do the right thing.

20. I say 'Thank You' and 'Welcome to the Party & DU'!
If your former friends won't vote to keep their own children and grandchildren (if they have any!) safe, then YOU vote to keep them safe and we'll join you. I no longer get mad or frustrated when people try and tell me 'I don't get it'; when we as Americans, regardless of Party, see that our country is headed down a dangerous path, the yells of the deluded mean nothing.

But, you can't believe it could really be that bad because
it has been advertised as Thee Fancy Restaurant, after-all.
