Did you ever think you'd see a day where Dubya would actually look appealing |
|
standing next to the two Republicans who are looking to replace him? My god... Trust me, it's not saying much, but Bush looks like a bastion of youth, charm, and good sense next to McCain/Palin. Yikes!

1. Totally fucking bizarre, but you're right. And Bush makes me pine for Nixon. |
|
So that speaks doubly ill of McPalin.

9. Hell, he was a socialist compared to today's Dems. His health-care plan |
|
was roughly equivalent to Hillary Clinton's health-care plan, and her plan was liberal among Democrats.

10. Indeed. Nixon wasn't too much of a conservative |
|

Enacted the EPA and the DEA. Allocated more DEA funds for drug treatment than any other president. Affirmative Action was much more stringent. He wanted to replace welfare with a guaranteed annual income.
I mean sure, he was a corrupt Republican bastard, but he had a lot of liberal policies. In some respects, I would compare him to a lot to Bill Clinton, a Democrat president who enacted a lot of "conservative" policies like welfare reform, DOMA, and the deregulation of telecom and banking...

5. LOL! Strange how we think things couldn't get any worse from the GOP... |
|
And then, amazingly enough, it does.

11. Ok, someone needs a nap. We're getting delusional here |

Yeah, it could always be worse but I'd have to travel a long way to get to "well at least Bush wasn't as bad as...."

12. Not delusional at all. McCain is a surly corpse who likely won't survive his first term |

And will be succeeded by an inexperienced, Pentecostal cultist. That, to me, is scarier than Bush. My point is, I didn't think it could get worse than Bush, and it has.

14. I have always lived with the notion that Cheney was scarier than Bush. |
|
Palin, who is essentially Cheney with lipstick, has a much more REAL chance of assuming the "throne" as it were. THAT is terrifying.

16. NO. Shrub does not look appealing - just not as disgusting as the two cretins running against |
|
America. But, no matter how the election turns out, Shrub and his junta will merrily ride off into the sunset with their stolen billions and never look back, because there will be no one in their rear-view mirror coming after them to hold them responsible for their crimes.
