Dumbfucks views on Dumbfucks

This is a quick story which actually came from one of the older Carlos Castaneda book, where Don Juan was instructing Castaneda on how to deal with dumbfucks.

One time a fellow was travelling and wandered into a village full of idiots. The mayor of the idiot village was giving a speech to the assembled village, and was (supposedly) reading parts of his speech from a book. Apparently nobody in the village knew how to read, including the mayor, although he pretended that he did know.

At the end of the speech, the travelling fellow pointed out that the mayor was actually holding the book upside down, and therefore it was obvious that the mayor did know how to read, either. The mayor, who, although an idiot, was somewhat good at debating, thought for a second, then said to the gathered crowd:

What an amazingly stupid statement! Anyone who knows how to read knows that someone who knows how to read can read a book right way up or upside down, or any which way. You, my friend, are the illiterate one, and you are lying to us.

And the village immediately lynched the poor traveller.


What I have heard over the last several days is that no matter how stupid Palin is, and no matter how many lies she tells, the Fundies and Republican core will back her. Period. And they will also continue to think that we are idiots for not doing so.
