2. Obama has to be careful on this!!!!
Earlier this morning, McCain said:

"The fundamentals of the economy are strong."

And the Democrats started to hammer McCain on this line this morning, with Joe Biden leading the charge.

Now at McCain's second town hall, just half an hour ago, McCain re-jiggered the line to say:

“My opponents may disagree, but those fundamentals of America are strong…. Our workers have always been the strength of our economy, and they remain the strength of our economy today.”

If Barack Obama attacks McCain on his gaffe from earlier this morning, the Republicans can spin that as an attack on workers. Obama has to be very careful on this. I see he has a rally slated for 1PM today in Colorado. Is he up yet live?

4. Why would that be an attack on workers?
Our jobs have been sent to China.

Obama should go after McCain on his economy comments and hit him hard.

5. because McCain flip-flopped on his morning's statement at a later rally
and redefined "fundamentals" to mean "workers" not the "economy."

6. Simple--just mention McCain's support for job outsourcing to other countries--
which in yurn destroyed the middle class economy.

A nice little mention of Hewlett Packard under Carly Fiorina would be a handy knife poke as well.

31. What about this?
Excerpts from Obama speech now:

Why else would he say that the economy isn’t something he understands as well as he should? Why else would he say, today, of all days – just a few hours ago – that the fundamentals of the economy are still strong?

Senator – what economy are you talking about?

What’s more fundamental than the ability to find a job that pays the bills and can raise a family? What’s more fundamental than knowing that your life savings is secure, and that you can retire with dignity? What’s more fundamental than knowing that you’ll have a roof over your head at the end of the day? What’s more fundamental than that?

The fundamentals we use to measure economic strength are whether we are living up to that fundamental promise that has made this country great – that promise that America is the place where you can make it if you try – a promise that is the only reason that we are standing here today.

Looks like his team didn't revise this in time.

43. Um---Obama is using the word as it's properly defined. McCain is making himself look REALLY stupid.
It's not hard for him to do that but he manages to bottom himself lots, especially with the likes of folks that think they are smart.

Where's the old Slinkerwink? I liked that one better.
