RFK Makes A Powerful Statement
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 12:47 PM by whereismyparty
(Wow. A simple but powerful message from Robert Kennedy, Jr.)

Governor Palin's Reading List

Fascist writer Westbrook Pegler, an avowed racist who Sarah Palin approvingly quoted in her acceptance speech for the moral superiority of small town values, expressed his fervent hope about my father, Robert F. Kennedy, as he contemplated his own run for the presidency in 1965, that "some white patriot of the Southern tier will spatter his spoonful of brains in pubic premises before the snow flies."

It might be worth asking Governor Palin for a tally of the other favorites from her reading list.

2. I'd like to know if she shares Pegler's attitude about RFK, Sr.
Though I suppose she would have replaced "white partiot of the southern tier" with "Alaskan hockey mom".

3. Palin never read a word from this writer.
She just mouthed the BS her corporate fascist puppeteers wrote for her.

12. Yes, I agree.
Still, the words came out of her mouth and the press needs to ask her about it.

13. Q: "Ms. Palin, why did you quote a racist in your speech?"
A: "In what respect?" That would be her answer--what else could she say? In that instance, feigning ignorance is probably her best defense. :grr:

14. I'm sure that is what she would try to do
and, then we'd have the RW media up in arms afterwards asking why the moderator is picking on poor helpless Sarah.

16. I disagree. I think she should have to explain why she quoted this guy. n/t

17. Where did I say she shouldn't have to explain it?
I only gave a probable answer she'd give if asked that question.

4. Wow, was ole Westbrook really a fascist and a racist and did he really
speak longingly for the assassination of a prominent public figure? If so, might one wonder if Madame governor is endorsing Pegler's sentiments in a not-so-subliminal, coded message ala the scraggly blond RW author and talking head who has spoken of such directly rather than in a not-so-subliminal manner? :P

10. How about a debate question on that?
"Governor Palin, you approvingly quoted writer Westbrook Pegler about small town values in your acceptance speech at the Republican convention, a man who expressed regret that former president Franklin Roosevelt had not been assassinated and openly cheered for the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. Is Pegler the only anti-Semetic writer on your reading list, or are there others?"
