14. There are alot of stupid black people in Oakland. I've tried to get young brothers and sisters to
register, but in some cases it's like talking to the wall.

22. Hope on the move: SF -----> Bay Bridge -----> Oakland.
This election has gone on waaaaaay too long and people have serious problems in their own lives as distraction. We're in the home stretch now.

20. I was in taxis in NYC last week and in Boston
I was on a work trip and whenever I get in taxis, I ask if they're registered to vote. Of course, they were voting for Obama.

21. As a New Yorker in Harlem...I really only see it during election time. About a week and day of.
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 01:50 PM by vaberella
All you hear is the MTA conductors and people screaming vote Obama.

This is not to say that if you brook the conversation with a New Yorker you won't get the expected glee about Obama. It's just not openly discussed (unless in private conversation) until & around election time.

26. Someone complained here that we were dancing at our desks too much,
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 01:57 PM by Major Hogwash
What did they expect?
That we'd be bummed out that Obama was going to be the next President?!

The repubs here are the ones that are bummed out, irritable, cranky, hadn't slept well the night before, and now they don't look forward to coming to work these days.
Why?
Because they don't want to face us.

Because they don't want to see the optimism we have about Obama!!!!

They suddenly don't want to stop working in the middle of the day and "go to Google" anymore, for some odd weird reason.
4 years ago, that's all they wanted to do, telling the rest of us "go to Google" and see what new crap they were saying about Kerry.

Not.
This.
Time.

Their goose is cooked.
Stick a fork in McCain, he's done!!

especially when I read "somewhere" that Black people weren't excited about Obama's nomination.

You can make up your own shirt if you want to on the internet! :hi:
