AP catches Palin and McCain lying about Obama's tax plan

Palin spells out her role in McCain administration

Palin lays out her role in McCain administration, says government too often is the problem

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said Monday she would concentrate on energy, government reform and helping families with special needs children if the GOP wins the White House this fall, and drew cheers when she said, "too often government is the problem" rather than the solution.

Campaigning on her own, the Alaska governor also said Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama "wants to raise income taxes and raise payroll taxes and raise investment income taxes and raise business taxes and raise the death tax.

"But John McCain and I know that's not the way you grow the economy," she added.

In fact, independent groups such as the Tax Policy Center have concluded that four out of five U.S. households would receive tax cuts under Obama's proposals.

McCain's selection of Palin a little over two weeks ago has brought renewed enthusiasm to his campaign, particularly among conservatives who have long been wary of him. Yet the governor, with little experience outside her own state, has largely been kept out of public view while aides seek to bring her up to date on a range of issues.

10. Inciting the Culture War rallies their base, but as the country implodes it's just a distraction.
It's a battle for the indie vote now.

16. Maybe it 's a battle for the stupid vote.
Seriously, any independent who hasn't figured this out must be stupid.

I think that "stupid" group, racists, Christian fundies, and the very wealthy are the only groups who wouldn't have made up their mind by now if they've got the facts.

11. It would be interesting to add this with the health care plan info for a net result
since I keep hearing McCain's health care plan will increase taxes for the general public.

15. Ross Perot used charts, to great effect, IMO. I'd like to see Obama use them.
the tax chart graph is perfect, should be in the hands of every voter.

14. They have to lie.
They have nothing else to talk about otherwise. There's no "there" there with either of them.
