How is it that there are people who hold core Democratic beliefs yet are still undecided? |
|
People who are concerned with civil liberties and Constitutional rights, universal healthcare, Social Security, and support a woman's right to choose. How on earth can these people possibly be undecided in a race between Barack Obama and John McCain? Someone posted this type of question this morning on a call in program on Wisconsin Public Radio and the implication was that far too many in this country, even those who identify with Democrats, cannot overcome their racial prejudice. I don't know how many there may be (who ever could?), but there are too many and I certainly expect better of anyone who even remotely is a Democrat. If there is even 1 of these type of people in each voting district or ward, think of what it would mean to the Obama campaign if these people had the courage to vote their beliefs and not their fears.

an yes there is such a thing. The ones who have to worry about what their neighbors are thinking before they can make an informed vote. The ones who spout off that they "are socially liberal fiscally conservative"; just because it is the soup du jour.
If someone tells them 1+1=2 and some else says 1+1=3; they will insist 1+1=2.5 since they are "middle of the road and unbiased".
Tell them the earth is round and not flat and they will respond with nonsense that it is "football shaped; sort of round and sort of flat".
I dislike these morans more than I do the freepers.

4. There are a small segment of "Democrats" who haven't voted for a national Democrat in decades. |
|
It's about 10% of self-identified Democrats
Even Bill only got 90% of the Democratic vote.
If Obama receives 90% of the Democratic vote, he is right where he needs to be.

5. I know way to many of these people |

At work there are 7 of us and 6 voted for Kerry in 2004. Our one token Republican who voted for Bush is totally for Obama this year but two of the Democrats who voted for Kerry are racists and will either not vote or vote for McCain. So we are down one at my place of work. I also know several young people who have never voted but have registered this year because they want to vote for Obama. I still think Obama is going to win but it is not going to be easy.
