Friend who was going to vote McCain switched to Obama/Biden after Palin added to ticket. |
|
This is a friend who used to be a lukewarm Repub - sort of out of habit (she did vote for Clinton, however and not for Dumbya either time). She had been very excited about Hillary and had decided to go back to her Repub roots to vote McCain after Hillary was out of the running.
She just told me that Palin scared the hell out of her and she could no way vote for McCain anymore. She also likes Biden a lot so that helped too.
She's also very worried about the economy and thinks that Obama/Biden will handle things better.

2. Reassure her that Hillary would be proud of her decision. |

Edit to add -- and I can sure understand. If she was supporting Hillary she was supporting a seasoned, sharp, knowledgeable and effective candidate. Palin is none of those.

8. My husband meets those qualifications |
|
He voted for W twice (second time to "give him a chance to clean up his mess"). Didn't like McCain and was leaning Obama, but was waiting to see who he'd pick for veep. When he picked mooselini, my husband said he is now definitely voting for Obama.
OTOH, my son who voted for Kerry had been leaning toward McCain and told me he'd decide after the debates. I talked to him last week and he said he liked Palin. All I had to tell him was that she was a pentecostal and he's no longer waiting for the debates -- he's voting Obama.

7. I have much the same story. |
|
My boss has always voted Republican - mostly out of habit, and some out of this idea that Dems are too coddling to people - whatever, I avoid talking about it if I can possibly help it.
Anyway, she was talking to a friend of hers today and BOTH were completely dismissing Palin - can't stand her. Think she's a whacko because of religious stuff and creationism and all that. Both say they're voting for Obama now.
Pretty cool really. I've been here 13 years and don't think she's ever voted Dem.

10. About a month or so ago, my boyfriend worried me |

by saying he was considering voting for McCain. He got over that real quick when Sarah Palin was announced as the VP pick. No deal.
I am so relieved that he's back in the Obama crowd.
