Rachel did the economy stuff okay with Reich but did not get the crisis across. It is like the hurricane coming. No Fed help. AIG is completely connected to all financials. Billions of dollars.

That is why the Dow dropped 504 at the end of the day.

Obama should be teleconferencing with all financial advisors right now and speaking not about McCain's or Bushes failures but solveing the crisis

6. And do what, exactly?
Obama is a lone U.S. Senator, right now.

This financial tsunami isn't being slowed by the full financial force of the Treasury and the Fed, combined, backing other investment banks with guaranteed liquidity.

No. The Repugs own this. And Obama needs to beat them over their heads with it.

After the election, he will have to deal with it. I'm sure his people are keeping a weather eye on things and formulating a plan of action to be put in place asap.

8. If you want to discuss the Wall Street implosion,
please join the Stock Market Watch thread daily over in LBN. We discuss a lot of "important issues." And if you get snarky, we'll let you know.

Other people are perfectly free to discuss lipstick, hockey, polar bears, tanning beds, and Captain Morgan Rum if they feel like it.

Quit acting like an idiot.

9. Then why the hell do you keep talking about it?
You realize that you're pretty much the only one talking about lipstick at the moment right?

10. A trillion dollars on their balance sheet ...
... Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs are major-league exposed.

I agree - this is serious shit, and fuck lipstick and Tina Fey glasses. Goldman Sachs, I repeat, Goldman Sachs, could go under or be sold in a fire sale. What's the old saying? I think it's - "may you never live in interesting times".
