AC360 is skewering McCain on campaign lies

Gergen and Halperin are saying this is going to hurt McCain badly and soon.

Candy Crowley is trying to be more diplomatic.

11. I've got to remember who it was
but one of the talking head was being interviewed about the election and stated that surrogates will push the limits and if not corrected by the host they will push it further. It was almost like it hit him in mid sentence "holy shit, I am letting them lie."

10. I think Gergen is right ....
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 09:40 PM by Trajan
It is Obama's chance to raise his standard and take control of the campaign ...

I think McCain is going to sink and sink fast ...

I do object to one point though: Gergen says the economic tumult is Obama's chance to chain McCain to Bush : I think it is time to tie BOTH McCain AND Bush to the FAILED GOP economic philosophies that have lead to this debacle ....

Bush AND McCain are failures because conservative economic policies are defective .... ALL of them are tied together, and it is THEIR fault, collectively and inclusively ...

12. You are spot on, the focus shouldn't be about Bush alone but about
how strict conformity to idealogy and hyper conservatism has led to multiple problems.
