6. Bush pretty much drained the pond...
He has fucked up so bad that even the wealthy are threatened right now, and they see that McCain/Palin will make things much worse. They need a Democrat to fill it back up, so they can suck it dry again in another 8 years. Pigs at the Trough: Part III.

10. I'm hoping it's that even Republicans love this country too much
to allow McCain to mess it up worse than it already is. You can't claim you're patriotic and then vote in the absolute worst person and still feel good about yourself. I know there's some that will vote Repug no matter what, but I have to believe that there are a lot who just care too much.

13. Obama is going to need help
Look, the only way the USA is going to make it through is for Republicans to be patriots. Until I saw this I couldn't think of one Repub leader who would stand up and do what is right. Gingrich, McCain, everyone tied to Bush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Rush, only know how to destroy. Which means the only way to have any success would be to destroy them and everything they stand for. That is hard to do being an outsider. The Republicans will need to be healed from the inside. Maybe Mitt can fill that role.

14. I heard about it earlier today, but what is he talking about?
In particular. I know McSame has been called out a few times, but this one seems really serious. What's the deal, and when was this interview taken?

15. I suspect it's from the primary campaign
You notice the YouTube poster doesn't tell when it came from. While I share the feeling that he needs calling out, I think this is a propaganda stunt as there's no way for viewers to know what Romney is referring to.

I do like Romney, despite his flaws. He seems like a genuinely decent person and he's smart. Too bad that he's something of an exception in the GOP.

21. The clip
with Romney linked in the OP is from the primaries. He's referring to lies McCain told about him (Romney). It's shortly after one of the Repub primary debates.

17. THAT was from the primary season. Aired January 31, 2008
It was posted today at Kos and TalkLeft, leaving some to think it is more recent.

snip:

ROBERTS: An awful lot of back and forth between you and Senator McCain. And I wonder, just a few days before the primary, is that what the voters want to hear? Didn't they want to hear substance on the issues?

ROMNEY: Oh, I think substance. I think Senator McCain was called out for what everyone has said was a false accusation. "The New York Times," "Washington Post," "Time" magazine, Bill Bennett, everybody has said what he said was simply wrong and reprehensible. I think it was a huge mistake on his part.

He wants to stick with it. So he got to take the shots for it, as long as he's doing that. I think people are going to really say, what's the heart and soul of the Republican Party going to be going forward? And I think that you're going to recognize them. That people do not want to have somebody who says no to drilling in ANWR, who says we're going to put a 50 cent a gallon burden on gasoline in this country.

Senator Mccain is just, I think, out of step with Republicans on issue after issue. That's what's going to hopefully get me the nod."
