Three Words: Level Playing Field
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 12:23 AM by Waiting For Everyman
That's what we don't have in trade.

That's what we don't have regarding wages.

That's what we don't have in health care.

That's what's wrong with our banking transactions.

That's what has caused this economic mess in general.

That's what FDR gave us with his New Deal reforms.

And that's what the Repubs, especially Gramm, have intentionally, maliciously, and relentlessly destroyed ever since Reagan for the advantage of their rich buddies, their true constituency - but especially and worst of all since 2000.

Overall, that's what we need back... a level playing field. No abuse of consumers. No abuse in the courts. No elite privileges. No secret out of control power.

That's the basic function of government in our lives - to provide a level playing field. We take it from there. But the little guy can't fight mega-corporations. They're killing us.

And re-regulating, i.e. proper government oversight is how to provide that level playing field.

There IS a role for government, and that is it. Enough with unrestrained, out of control, super-rich nitwits destroying our lives.

I think those 3 words should be used in this campaign A LOT.

I can't even believe this... I'm already hearing Carly Fiorina talking about "ultimately re-privatizing" Fannie and Freddie!!! Any further question about where McC's campaign is coming from? OMG! Sure, let's shuffle the pieces around for a while, and do it again! They're not even shy about saying so.
