Did you ever awaken in the dark, early morning hours, and have a strange thought?
I've always found the odd combination of thoughts intriguing and amusing at that hour. This morning I woke with a start: the first thought was, "Had the Eagles won?" (they didn't) and the other was, remember that old old Star Trek, the one where Captain Kirk is unable to command his ship and some Commodore who has little or no experience at the helm is forced to do battle with the Klingons or Romulans and is just out of his depth, the ship is listing badly and they're about to be destroyed and suddenly Kirk reappears on the bridge, barks a few orders, and suddenly, everything's OK again. Great suspenseful drama in its day - I remember the original broadcast.

So I'm thinking about this nincompoop McCain selected for VeeeePeeee (as she would enunciate) - that we would be in a terrible situation and she of little mind and no experience (despite the assurances of reliable folks like Brad "Headshaker" Blakeman and Nancy "Bulimic" Pfotenhauer) would just go off the deeper end, and be reduced to an emotional and psychological cinder by the conflagration of events. there would be no James T. Kirk to rescue her...or us.

then I took a shower, cleaned off, and dressed - came to work.

1. Not so strange. Since she doesn't seem to have an aversion against killing,
she'd be wanting to use the Red Button because that would be what God would want.

2. There were several great Star Treks and some other
series that apply to today. I think season 7 of the West Wing is in some ways being played out before our eyes. Great writing is something that lasts through the ages.

Good Catch
