Colorado getting inundated. |
|
Not by any hurricane remnants, but by POLITICAL ADS! I can't take it anymore. Every single commercial break has at least 2, though this morning there were 4 in a row on the morning news. Mostly McCain or conservative leaning ads. Nasty. One is against Mark Udall and has an aging hippy talking about how Udall wanted to start a Dept of Peace. He's standing in front of a VW van with pot smoke rolling out of it. They're just low and horrible. I'm glad I have a mute button because I'm not listening to any of them.

2. Ironically, I hope we start seeing them in AZ |
|
When ads appear, as obnoxious as they become after seeing them for the hundredth time, it means the candidates who are running the ads think the state is in play. While it's a long shot for Obama to win in AZ, if he starts running ads here it would be a signal that, at a minimum, he's going to make McCain defend home territory--and that's good for us.

8. Someone reported that he saw the anti-McCain POW ad from the 527 yesterday. |
|
Wish I could remember who it was but I thought that was good news--taking him on right here. That and the Obama office opening last week in Phoenix is good news for downticket races, IMHO.

5. They are getting McCain to spend all of his money early |

Plouffe said that the computer models show that McCain has less than a 5% chance of winning if he loses Colorado.

6. Well, he's going through it pretty fast. |

I haven't seen too many 527 ads, though. Interesting. They're all official McCain/Palin. Except for the anti-Udall ads - those are all 527 (oil money).

7. I will again be the kill joy ... |

IMO, McCain taking the federal funding has given him the chance to actually be even with Obama this cycle ...
POINT - I just saw that Palin was at some kind of fundraiser this last weekend, and there was 1 million raised. Gee, I thought they could not raise money, right? Well, they can't for THEIR campaign, but the can for 527s and whatever all else, which they ARE.
IMO, they are taking their 80 million or so election WELFARE and then going to continue to raise funds for their 527s, and at the end going to be pretty much even with BO, WITH THE ADDED BONUS, that as gawd aweful as their ads are, the 527s are going to be EVEN WORSE.
